Sombody could take advantage of that. Let's say I have one account on my computer which is an administrator. Anybody could use that disk and log on my computer ?

If that's the case, I'm going to modify some settings in my BIOS.

PS - Why do you think people have been looking for a disk like that ? It's very rare somebody actually forgets their password. They just want to log on any computer they want.

Well, anyone who can sit at your computer, can bypass anything (if they know what there doing)...So I see no harm in this......

If the disk was made with another computer then by my understanding it can not be used onto another.

Re: How to Log On to Windows XP If You Forget Your Password

There are lots of ways to "bypass" logins if you forget the password. im pretty new here and havent read through the GDD all the way, but if its cool, then i will link to a great thread at another tech site that went over this topic thoroughly.

Re: How to Log On to Windows XP If You Forget Your Password

Method 3: happen to have a premade system like a Dell that has a jumper on the mobo to reset system passwords and if desired leave them disabled.

Or Method 3: if you are lucky/unfortunate enuff to own a system with an Intel mobo or a Dell they have a jumper that resets the system password, and can be left in the 'reset' position to totaly disable system passwords.

Re: How to Log On to Windows XP If You Forget Your Password

Alright guys I have a tool to completely blank the password. :P
It worked on my w2k3 server installation.

I used the boot ISO to boot, followed the steps carefully and answered the questions.
Beware though, you have to read the questions prompted carefully.
This little tool has a linux-command line interface, so it's tiny characters. :P
But, it works. That, I guarantee. It's another one of those SAM file hacking things. lol

Download it here!

Zetsuei, use this:

It works.

(I don't know why my previous reply didn't post on here, though. It had it explained)
