Internet issue

I'm running windows xp pro and I'm trying to access the net. I have the sytem set up on a networkm with one other computer using a Linksys router. My one system works fine however I can not get on the net with the other. I have checked all the settings and everything appears to be in order. No firewalls are on or anything like that. I recently updated the system from Windows 98 to XP pro and I was able to access the net on 98. Any thoughts as to what is causing this?

Re: Internet issue

first remove it from the network and router, and connect it directly to the net. see if it works then.

Re: Internet issue

Are you using cable or dsl ? if your using cable make sure thatthe router is set to dhcp ani if dsl make sure it is set to pppOE..

this after you go directly to the internet from your modem , make sure it is not a local machine issue
