As for Trend Micro av, I belive both Avira and Avast are better. But T.M. av and Spysweeper should make a pretty good combo. Especially if you also add Spybot SD. Or / and AVG antispy.

You probably work at Best Buy or a similar retailer? Consumer Reports does recommend Trend Micro. The reason they have us recommend Trend Micro is because the versions we carry (same as regular retail just packaged differently) has a higher margin and we're able to discount it for security package set-ups for new computers. Basically $149.00 gets you Trend Micro and Webroot for a year, both set up and installed, all the bloatware cleaned off, the registry optimized, and restore CDs created.

It's not a bad deal for customers who don't know how to do it. And even for those who know how to, it's not a bad deal for the time it takes. I had them do everything except setting up the anti-virus and anti-spyware.

I usually set people up with my own package, which instead of Trend and Webroot, I do Kaspersky with a software install. It comes to about $150 also. So the same amount of revenue for the store, but less in services and less margin.

Anyways, if you do work for BBY, you can't recommend Spybot. At least not as far as I'm aware of. If a customer brings it up, I just say that it is a great add on only (which it is since it doesn't have the greatest active protection). But BBY and the GeekSquad got in some heat for using the stuff without permission.
