MS Win. Genuine Advantage Notification

This is the second time MS has wanted to check the authenticity of my OS software. The first time I let them do whatever they do to see that my OS was not pirated and it was't. I have been receiving updates for at least two years.

I just got hit with another one called WGA! This time somehow the install program made it past my "option" to download and this morning I was greeted with a nag window 2x.

I did not like the terms of the software agreement so I killed it. To 'help' them out with piracy MS makes you to agree to their terms to put a software on your computer that may shut it down! I am wondering if they will cut off my updates now that I did not allow them to check and tag my comuter.

They tell you in the license agreement that with this program they will keep track of you from now on with updates to MS. What's this crap? Will my software all of a sudden turn pirate after it is verified. Obviously this bug will check all MS software you put on your computer and report back to Bill. And, the program can not be removed.

I am wondering if anyone who has already gone through their verification process once and does not agree to this latest one will be cut off from updates.

Am I the only one who reads 'most'license agreements?

Re: MS Win. Genuine Advantage Notification

By this time, millions of people must be very, very tired by using Windows now. Linux is definitely the way to go, according to my opinion.

But if you insist on using Windows, then you need to accept "the reinstall OS philosophy". :-]
