no 'Open" option on file (.qfx) download

When I try to download Quicken QFX files from my banks, I no longer get the choice of 'OPEN' - only 'SAVE' and 'CANCEL.' I've made two changes on my computer that might cause this:

upgraded to IE8: I've put my banks in the 'Trusted' zone, allowed downloads - but that doesn't work.

I've installed Kaspersky Internet Security: I've looked at all the settings, but if there is something that prevents the "OPEN' I can't figure it out.

I can SAVE the downloaded file, then open it - but I'd like to avoid saving little .qfx files and doing this in 2 steps.

I'm stumped!!

Just a suggestion, but I might try disabling Kapersky and trying again. If it doesn't work then at least you'll know it's not Kaspersky that's causing the problem.

Re: no 'Open" option on file (.qfx) download

I have a friend that upgraded to IE 8 a while ago. He could'nt get to his internet bank account. When he phoned the IT guy at the bank. He whas told to revert back to IE 6 or 7, as IE 8 did'nt work.

Maybe you should do the same thing?
