Google Chrome..

Has anyone here tried Google Chrome? I haven't tried it yet because it the ad says it's for Windows XP SP2. I'm running XP SP3.

I just want to know if it makes browsing noticeably faster.

Thanks,

Re: Google Chrome..

I've used Google Chrome since it's been in beta and I'm using it right now on Windows 7. It ran like a dream on XP SP3 so you'll be fine. My only gripes with Chrome are that it kinda sucks on animated gifs and most websites do not know it exists yet and will yell at you for not using a compatible browser. But that doesn't happen often.

You can import everything from firefox/ie and it just generally kicks ass. Give it a shot.

Re: Google Chrome..

Furthermore if Google sold me a shit filled stocking I'd probably buy it and wear it, too.

I played around with it and was impressed. I'm not using it though (since I use a couple extensions exclusive to Firefox)

Re: Google Chrome..

It sure does make browsing noticeably faster. When I switched from Firefox to Chrome, I noticed a HUGE difference. But I also use common sense - I use Chrome for the majority of my browsing but I still use Firefox when I need to utilize special extensions. I don't install extras onto Chrome because I want to keep it as my "naked" fast browser. I leave all of the add-on installs with Firefox which is better for that anyway.

In addition to being fast, check out this article on security.

Re: Google Chrome..

If you're going to compare Chrome vs Firefox in speed, I suggest that all extensions in Firefox is uninstalled first. Makes the test more fair.

I've tested Chrome myself and I experienced it as fast, not as usable as Firefox though, in my opinion.
