Internet Explorer 8

Has anybody here tried Internet Explorer 8? I use Firefox mostly but sometimes IE works better for certain things like my banking, etc. Up until now I have stayed with IE6 because it was faster than IE7, but I just got a notice from Google that they will soon not be accessible with IE7 and suggest installing IE8.

I'd appreciate hearing how people are finding it.

Thank you,

Re: Internet Explorer 8

As usual, FF (3.5.1.) are better. But IE8, besides that some on line banks having slight problems with it. It's the best so far. Fast, and seems stable.

Re: Internet Explorer 8

Yeah, I haven't really used IE 8 much at all. When I run into a site that has issues with Firefox, I use IE tab. Thankfully my bank's website works fine with Firefox. It's just some work related sites (for proposals, ect) that don't agree with Firefox.

EDIT: Page rendering and loading the program itself is so much faster on my computer. I'm guessing that loading Firefox is faster because of prefetching, but still.

Re: Internet Explorer 8

I installed IE8 last night and had nothing but headaches with it. It wouldn't let me install it unless I also installed MSN, which I agreed to, but then it also install a few other programs. I tried to uninstall it but I couldn't find it in Add Remove Programs. I tried to do a system restore and it no longer functioned. It was like having a bad virus or Trojan. I finally had to use a special uninstalling program to get rid of it and get everything working properly again. And for anybody who might not know about it the program I used is a free download and it's an amazing little uninstaller. It's called Revo Uninstaller and can be downloaded here: http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_..._download.html

Re: Internet Explorer 8

I've tried Internet Explorer 8 myself and I had no serious problems with it. It works. To my experience it's more stable than version 7.
