Hp laptop

Hi all

I bought Hp dv4-1214tx pavilion laptop 6 months ago but now my laptop is infected by virus. Therefore, I need to restore to factory setting by using F11 but while I pressed F11, nothing appeared on the screen. Is there anyone who wants to give me the procedures to get access to F11 is highly appreciated. My laptop is originally installed Vista Home basic and in D partition there is a file name extension of ".GHO".
Is there a method to recover from a file extension of GHO?

Please give me brief procedures!

Thank you!

Re: Hp laptop

GHO files, are Norton Ghost files. Try downloading a trial of Norton Ghost.

Re: Hp laptop

If you boot from a Knoppix Live DVD you might have the possibilty to remove the viruses if the ClamAV software manages to find the infections. This way the viruses will be unable to spread further during the process. Interesting?

Re: Hp laptop

I tried to recover my PC by using Norton Ghost 14 from GHO file extension images but the Norton Ghost 14 couldn't be functional; may be the former versions of Norton ghost I think ;but I am not sure which version is appropriate. The factory setting operating system was Vista home edition.
My friend told me to use f11 function to restore but I cannot access the recovery option while I pressed F11 so many times.

Help me

with best regards,
