98 se Set up errors

Ok this is messed up.
yesterday I had my mothers computer in the shop for VXD errors, They said they couldn't get the errors to appear. Soon as i got it home , I got an Msgsru32 Error Then I open the Error box It says Kernel32.dll AT 017f:Brr7b992
I keep on getting this error. So in Frustration I decide to Reformat and start again .
Reformat went well, I installed Win 98SE it went well Until it was tome for the software to detect Hardware The I got a variety of VXD errors Such as:
FAtal exceptions

OE
0028:C0003aa8 In VXD VMM (01)+ 00002AA8
0028:C0003702 IN VXD VMM Missed this part
0028: C0009485 In VXD VMM(01)+ 00008485
What gives is this problem Software or is it Hardware?

Yes, I understand that, I should have refrased the question.

Can you clarify whether there is your computer or your mothers' computer that is not working correctly at this time?

Re: 98 se Set up errors

If the hardware is too modern for the operating system, like Windows 98, then there you have it. Have you tried with other versions of Windows or maybe even Linux?
