Hp laptop

I bought Hp laptop
Intel motherboard
dv4-1214tx entertainment pc
with Vista preloaded but due to my special reason,I need to change the operating system that is downgrading to XP but while I boot my pc with XP, I faced error message (Blue screen). Is there anyone who wants to give me a brief step by step procedure to downgrade my PC is APPRECIABLE.

I've read that to be able to use XP on newer laptops you need to change the BIOS settings for how the harddrive is configured. Do the laptop have a S-ATA harddrive in it?

You should be able to change the interface setting for the harddrive to use SCSI instead. Try it to see if it works.
