Re-formatting HD quesiton

Hey I'm back to OTS for my computer needs again. So here's the deal, I have two Sata hard drives one 160GB and the other 1TB. What I want to do is reformat my 160GB with my Windows OS on it. The problem is I use my TB hard drive to store all my data and I was wondering if I delete the partition of my 160GB HD everything would be fine correct and I could use my other hard drive with all the data on it without formatting etc..? Any comments or recommendations relating to my problem would be great!

Thanks

Re: Re-formatting HD quesiton

I don't see you'll find any problems with this, however, just to be on the safe side, which version of Windows?

If it's XP, then I don't think you will have any problems doing this, depending on how you've done it. If you have software on the smaller harddrive you will haveto reinstall everything again.

And even if it's Vista and there's been ownership rules setup for directories on the other drive, you can reclaim ownership over the files. You'll get some error message when you try to do stuff with documents that you don't have ownership over and you can search Google quoting the error message for a quick solution.

I remember having to right click on files and click something like, "Take ownership."
