Comcast sux0rs...
..big time.
They FORCED me to install there software so I could change my email system (@home emal services end tomorrow).
Great, so, hey, I figured if the bastards want me to install some software I will, then I'll uninstall it after I'm done. So I do.
But the software modified IE... The thin that annoys me is this... It replaces the little MS globe with a comcast C... and changes the (e.g.) Open Tech Support - Microsoft Internet Explorer to Open Tech Support - Microsoft Internet Explorer provided by Comcast... Provided by comcast my ass!
Anyone know how to get rid of this crap? I don't like my computer beeing an advertisement for an internet provider that sucks.
On a side note, anyone know what wmiexe.exe does? It runs in the windows enviroment, and its only 16kb...
See attached screenshot to see what I'm talking about.

There was a program called X-teq that would let you change things about windows, the title of IE being one of them. Though, I know there's an easier way because I once went to a site ( http://hpok.net ) and ever since pages I have opened look like this in the title bar: Open Tech Support Forums - http://hpok.net ??? (question marks included).

Darky...
1. regedit
2. hkey_current_user -> software -> microsoft -> internet explorer -> main
3. double click on "window title"
That's how to edit your title at the top of the browser

Great! And I don'tknow if this will help you remove the mindspring icon from your computer, but on mine, it was under c:\progam files\internet explorer\signup. I deleted everytihng in that directory and rebooted, and it was gone.
I found out where it was by looking at the main folder in the registry you posted above, I belive it was in the main folder anyway, main or settings.

I like to keep my computer shareware-free. And I'm perfectly comfortable editing the registry, so theres no need to have sometihng change it for me.
BTW, I sent comcast an email, 4 or 5 days ago, and they stillh aven't replied. I'm interested as to how they'll respond
