It would be nice, but it opens a can of worms when problems arise during transactions.
People who get ripped off will be insistent that the owner of the site take action - and right now the only thing OTS can do is disable/ban/suspend someone's account, not get the product or money back. I don't want to have to subject myself to that kind of hassle

Sure, I can put disclaimers saying we're not responsible for transaction problems, but that doesn't really stop the emails from coming in asking that we do something about it
Yes, it might still have legal ramifications for the site, and being a non-profit entity, I don't want OTS to be introduced to that kind of hassle
I know I'm being paranoid here, but it's better to play it safe for the sake of this site
