The site gets spidered regularly by Google, Yahoo, etc... so half of those are bots sometimes... in other times, there are users viewing the archive pages based on a search query they made at Google or Yahoo, and is/are currently reading that page... if the page contains the answer they're looking for, they read it and leave. If it doesn't, they register and ask.
If I was a user who followed a link here from a search engine or from another site, and I saw the answer I was looking for, I wouldn't need to register and/or post. Such is the nature of the Internet
