Things I have learned in the past three weeks.

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: Atlas4

1. Never, NEVER yell at your parents and expect no punishment, say no comp or PS2 for 3 weeks.
2. No matter what your age, LEGOs can be fun.
3. Especially when your ungodly bored.
4. One can make many friends in high school.
5. Pulp fiction is the best movie of all time.

These things have made me a better person. Minors like me, follow these rules, especially the first one.

You're dead on with #2 and not too far off with #5

Posted by: ZeRo_MaXwInG

Some of us learned it the hard way.

Lego is universal, but pulp fiction is overrated.

Posted by: Gunslinger

Agreed. Pulp Fiction is worth the ticket/video purchase or rental, but, it gets tired.

Legos are win, though.

Posted by: Atlas4

Well, for a fourteen year old, I think Pulp Fiction is hilarious. And dark. dark dark dark comedy. If that's what it is. That's what it portrayed to me.

K'NEX > Legos

Posted by: uh...ok

No way Alt. They're simply bad imitations for the less creatively inclined!

Reacting to anyone in an irrational or combative manner should always be met with some sort of consequence. I wish there was some sort of 'Losing you sh*t police' that would go to the houses of people who openly abuse fast-food workers, grocery checkers and the like and deny them use of their television or some other amenity. There is a great deal to be gained from calmly working things out, as I'm sure your parents would tell you.

These items are dead on. Legos kick my ass. However, as an editorial note, I would have made these one item in the hopes of having them make more sense. Itemized lists should be comprised of elements that can stand alone. "Especially when your ungodly bored." makes no sense out of context, even if you assume that 'your' is really 'you're'.

Yes, it possible to make friends in high school but I wouldn't count on a great number of these acquaintences being of any consequence after the high school experience is over. The test of time will clear away the soulful clutter of fair-weather friendship. Basically, don't make any long-term commitments, oaths or fellowships if you can avoid it. This goes doubly for anything having to do with high school girls. They're about as stable as a Jell-O mold sitting on the San Adreas Fault. Have fun but don't make any long term plans; tomorrow, they will be totally different.

Pulp Fiction is not bad. But, go see more movies. You'll change your tune. There's a lot out there.

*feels a 'indie films rock!' post coming*

*runs and hides*

Posted by: Canis Lupus

never really liked Pulp Fiction that much ... it was a good movie but not something I would include to my pretty massive DVD collection

That's a horrible thing to say. Cramming a different kind of culture down one's throat will not always change one's tune. And it shouldn't reverse your previous tastes.

gotta save room for the eventual Dungeons and Dragons sequel

Posted by: Canis Lupus

hehe, what you may not know is that it might actually rock

that D&D DVD is exactly the reason why I'm not getting the PF DVD ... already had shit once, no need to add more

Posted by: TheeMon

well first off hs is a ***ed up place trust me... not saying its good nor bad its just ***ed up... and leggos kick ass and btw alt knex blows... even though i made a car one time outa knex that wouldnt break... i did everything possible to it and nothing(short of actually disassembling it)

Posted by: Gunslinger

You don't want the Pulp Fiction DVD, but what about the newly released Reservoir Dogs DVD?

Posted by: AK47

The transfer on the disc blows sheep.

Posted by: Aeris_Flame

All things considared, I definately love Legos, even if they get kinda sucky with the theme sets, you know, pirates and the like. I prefer the build your own, generic sets better. I think anything that requires imagination to use, i.e. books, crayons, craft sets or other such items are always useful. However, I must agree with Canis on the PS thing. I don't really like Pulp Fiction that much, and yes I believe it's over-rated. BTW, Atlas You didn't say Happy Birthday to me, my b-day was Friday. I'm hurt.

Movie I'm waiting for is "The War with the Chtorr" by David Gerrold. Read the books if you haven't already.

"Cramming" ?? I am leaving a text message in an online forum, not holding him at gunpoint. I had no idea this forum held so much control over people. . . . . . .hmmmmm. . . . . .

I was stating a general hypothetical.

Hmm, where would I get that idea?? Ok, say your sister is enormously fat and I try to throw my arms around her, while saying, "Boy, I sure am glad I'm not a big sloppy pig!!" What kind of message would that convey??

Having a bad morning?

Posted by: AngstMerchant

Not a bad morning, per se. I'm actually doing well today, now that Shal is back in town. I just don't understand how Cheese could quote me in a post in this context and then not understand why I thought he was addressing me. It seems pretty straight forward. . .

Posted by: Cheese

I was addressing you...that was obvious, but I wasn't saying you were cramming a different culture down his throat, which I thought I clearly stated. I was saying that you shouldn't tell someone that their tastes are wrong and if they watch something else, they'll change. If he likes what he likes, then thats enough, he shouldn't have to change.

:edit:
and on that note, i withdraw myself from this thread, because i'd rather not drag it out any longer...if you feel the need, do it through pms.

I concur with that.

Here's some more:
5. Amelié is the best romantic comedy. Ever. Period. I could be wrong, but go rent it and see if I am.
6. Why is it when you are bored out of your mind, there is literally nothing on television, but when you have all your privileges, the best programs come on when you're busy?

Posted by: Atlas4

BTW, AF, I only got my stuff back on Sunday, so I couldn't have told you happy b'day even if I wanted to. So, that in mind, HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY!!!!

Posted by: Erekose

you know i missed amielee, mother rented it never got a chance to see it . yeah i watch romantic crap, what of it?
