What's so special about unidentified items? I see people offer them every once in a while.

Un-ID'ed items can't be dupes. . .

I thought about that but I figured it wouldn't be any harder to dupe an item if it's unidentified.
Unless it requires you to equip an item before you can dupe it, it doesn't make much sense, or does it?

I don't believe duping is done the same in Diablo 2 as it is in Diablo 1. It may be possible to dupe an un-ID'ed item. However, in light of the fact that getting caught with dupes means being tagged and being tagged sucks, it seems like a lot of trouble to make an un-ID'ed unique that may become the rockbottom end of the spectrum after it is ID'ed. I guess you might be able do it but it would only be to fool people who are trying to remain legit and that's a lot of trouble to go through just to fool some poor sucker.

also if the un-id was a dupe it would get a new item number when you id it and make it so you couldnt tell if it was a dupe

how can u tell a duped from a non-duped

either
1. you obtain an item from trade and after the trade window is closed, the item is gone, or changed into something magical.
or
2. one day, you find some items gone though you sure it should be there, and the item is not picked up by you, but traded, blizzard deleted it cuz it's duped. or do blizzard do that?
so you can't tell if it's duped or not till then.

my friend found 2 different Burizas from killing monsters, the stats just happened to be the same. He transfered them to a mule account. Two days later one was gone. They were not duped since he had to ide them himself. So even if they arent dupes, blizzard can still screw up. Any ways it doesnt really matter, seeing as though Buriza is like the easiest good unique you are able to find.

is that true?
that's ****ed up though.

I think Amazons use Burizas to kill small children.
