StarCraft 2 - Released at the same time as SC Ghost?

So the work on StarCraft: Ghost doesn’t impact the World of Warcraft team. It doesn’t impact what the Warcraft III team is doing next. It doesn’t preclude us from doing anything else in the StarCraft universe. We certainly don’t see StarCraft: Ghost as being something that replaced StarCraft II. It’s just as likely that StarCraft II will be released at the same time as Ghost.We had two Warcraft teams working at the same time. I think it’s a difficult thing to look at. We even see big assumptions based on our web site. We’ll pull something off and people will go, "Oh my God, they pulled material from the web site. Now the game is being delayed!"
Bill Roper just cant seem to get his story straight, lol.

I think blizzard is hiding stuff from bill roper and he finally was told that they were working on starcraft 2

I think you're reaching a bit there. 
It sounds to me like he's saying, "StarCraft: Ghost is being made by another company and Ghost is not going to take resources away from us to continue developing games for the PC".
He was just addressing the screaming on forums about Blizzard not working on StarCraft 2. He didn't say they were going to do it. Just that Ghost wouldn't affect the decision to make it or not.

I do not want SC2 to be released anytime soon. 3yrs will be fine for me. I am satisfied with War3 and I want it to last me 3yrs. I rather see a War3 Expansion then SC2.

Did the article ever say anything about SC2 being on console or computer. I dont care when it comes out so long as its not on a console.

When it (Starcraft 2) does come out, Starcraft will be really hard to top. I mean, look at it, 4 years old and counting, and still a lot of people play it. Zerg, Protoss and Terran are ingeniously designed and balanced and adding another race to the SC universe will just screw everything else up.

Starcraft wouldn't be a blockbuster hit if it wasn't made by Blizzard. Theres nothing special about the game, there are other RTS games out there that outclass it by far.
Blizzard makes PC games. Not console games. Look at what happened with SC64. Wasn't to big of a hit huh? I remember seeing it priced at around 15$ a month or so after it was released
Oh, and last time I checked Starcraft was far from balanced.

Star Craft was made in 96 if memory serves me right, so its 6 years old, not 4.

No, March 30, 1998 I believe, and broodwar came out that december.
Diablo came out sometime in 1996.

Do you think that when they make SC2 that they will use the WC3 engine? I’ve seen some pretty nice SC mods for WC3 not to mention that Zelda one.

I just played that "mod" and I enjoyed it.
Too bad there's absolutely no "OMG YOU BEAT IT YAY" message or anything. You nab the triforce piece then you're immediately shown your stats 
Took me an hour to beat it.. Lots of fun though 
Even there's not an open option like on StarCraft would it be right call these UMS's?

sc and broodwar are still great games, and i believe relatively well balanced darky, 1000's still play on battlenet everyday as you all know. if they were developing sc2 they certainly wouldn't plan on releasing before ghost or before wc3 got played out. meaning they could be planning on 3 years from now, and that means we see it 4-5 years from now(blizzard time). but all this speculation is just that, speculation.

i dont see it coming anywhere near 3 years from now , i mean that are playing out WC3 and you know thir will be a Exp , then theres SC: Ghost , and you also have World Of Warcraft , that MMORPG will be big , i see it more as... 6-8 years from now...

or god forbid a new and original concept instead of sequel after sequel. playing on name just for marketing purposes seems to be killing inovation, atleast to a point. but i guess different topic for different time.

I bought Warcraft III and I didn't like it. Call me crazy, but hey I guess I am! It was decent, just not enough fun for me. I loved Warcraft II, sometimes I still play it. If SC II was on the way I would be a happy man. Oh well, I think Bob Barker is behind all of the bad marketing.
