Diablo II install rebooting system during video test

Hi,
I'm trying to install Diablo II. However, the system just ups and REBOOTS itself whenever it gets to the video test. I have tried this 3 times and the same things happens every time. Afterwards, I can't play the game because it keeps asking for the Play CD even though it is in my drive. When the autoplay on the Play CD starts, it complains the Diablo II is not installed.
I'm not quite sure what's going on here. I have the latest drivers for my soundard, video card, and the lastest directx version 8.1. Can anyone suggest anything? System specs and my d2debug.txt generated at install is below, showing that the process terminated during direct3d testing (rebooted my system).
My system specs:

Does this happen with only Diablo II? If it happens with any other game or at any other time, you can safely rule out D2. Let me know.

Have you tried installing the latest patch? I know that if you don't DL and install the 1.09d patch, D2:LOD will complain about the play CD not being there. However, if D2:LOD isn't fully installed, the running the patch may not help.
