<a href="http://newconclave.virtualave.net/clanhaven/index.html">Clan Haven</a>

Site background: I decide to try an idea I had a few months ago. This site is a UBB Forums based site. (forum not up yet.) It's propose is to host other clan's forums. In the same manner that The-group does HLF. Except that this site will be devoted to Clans and Guild's. But not limiting itself to just the Starcraft and Diablo series. But to many games other like Quake, Half-Life, and AOE. So I guess you could call this site a Haven. Hence the name Clan Haven. I hope the idea works. Hopefully this site will grow onve I get it fully running.

Feature's: Each clan will have there own password protected forum. Plus be able to choose up to 4 moderators for it. Private messages will be added. And memberlist. Each person who regester's mush have a clan tag.(I plan on modifing the memeber list to sort by tags) So each clan that decides to be hosted must have a tag even if thier clan does not. (They can just make up one for the forums.) I think this idea should work and I am hoping that I can get some support for OTS and TG on it.

I would like some feedback on the site and the idea. I am not the best grapics creater nor do I know all of HTML.

I aslo have not decided on a color scheme. So any help would be apperiated.

Thanks in advance.

Hehe sorry Bob, it's not that we are ignoring ya - it's just that we have also been pretty busy with other things, and we probably overlooked your initial thread when we refreshed the threads.

Besides, I was always assuming that it isn't your final layout yet - there is still a lot to be done with it. And like Scav, I couldn't connect to it the first time I tried clicking on it, and I forgot to revisit it.

Anyway, here are my comments:

1.) I would suggest using "border=0" on your framesets. This'll give it a seamless feel, as well as make your top frame look a little better.

2.) The links on the left menu are too close to the image bullets. Add a space or two.

3.) Your left and right columns occupy too much screen real estate (on 800x600). Either reduce the width of the ends, or reduce the columns themselves.

4.) The site layout is too "plain." Perhaps you can spice it up?

5.) The word "register" on the top frame is misspelled.

That's it.

Very Clean looking site 8) Im so proud of you *wipes away a tear*

1) Interestingly enough the page doesn't open in netscape navigator 4.7 but works fine in IE I can only assume its something with yer tableset in yer index file cause the index displayes on netscape but the content pages are lost.

2) The navigation feels funny (im insane its ok) its almost like the difference of a few pixels from the main folder (top list thing) and its subdirectorys is just enough to make you feel unbalance, maybe anouther image for the main folder in each mini menu. <-- this thing is purely an issue with me not technical

3) Spaces after the navigation bar images and the text and maybe ever some more space between the content middle area and yer navigation so it doesnt feel cramped.

4) The top bar idea is really cool but its centered while the rest of your page is set to the left. Throws the balance of the page off. Although its really hard to do, the most professional looking web sites carry the same alignment through the whole page... even though centering would seem to be better. Ex: in this forum reply area everything is on the right side of the table data, even though most people would place stuff like the reply box in the center.

5) The Navigation boxs on the right are aligned to the middle of the table it appears. They would fit better alligned to the top.

6) Do the css yerself? nice to see little things like that 8) just make the page feel better.

7) The top left corner is too empty. 8) dont know how else to put it or even a suggestion... i guess you could always do the lame generic thing and put a logo there.

8) The clan haven title image ties the page together but it also leaves a lot of empty space maybe put an image behind it to make the page more exciting or adjust the words so there isnt as many empty spaces. 8)

9) Site is very plain but that can be a good or bad thing. Definetly gonna be a good loading time which can sometimes be a problem with forum sites. Anouther color in addition to green and black would be kinda nice maybe a yellow or something just to give it a little more life (no offence to laggy cause its a really good site he made) but pure green is getting to me with the-group.org's forums, opentechsupport.net, and battle.net. A nice red or yellow or some bright color would make the page feel more welcoming (keep in mind not christmas red or you got a whole nother problem)

10) I got "[an error occurred while processing this directive]" im guessing thats cause yer script isnt in so its not a problem but just incase it isnt im letting you know 8).

11) Keep in mind everything here except for the netscape thing in #1 is just a look/feel thing and purely my opinion if you dont like what i think thats yer call 8) im just as right as you are and you've known you longer.

Page was looked at on Netscape Navigator 4.7 and Internet Explorer 5.

And to Scav. You were right. The error was caused b/c I so not have the scripts up yet. SO my SSI can not call on them at the moment.
