A friend of mine has an old PC with the AT style power plant but all of a sudden it just wont power up.Is there a way to check and see if it is the power supply causing this. The fan in the power supply will not run or anything when you hit the power switch. Thanks Troubled.......

well, if its not providing power to the computer, and its fan isnt working, its dead. its rather unlikely that the fan burnt out and the motherboard died at the same time.

Actually, get another AT power supply, and see if that one works, if it boots up, there is your problem. BUT, make sure your power cords are all connected correctly and perfectly. One little mistake, and it may not work at all. Try another AT power supply, then if that doesn't work. Do the steps, start replacing certain things with stuff you know works, until you have the problem found.
