i just bought a new one
mounted it and connected everything
but it doesn't appear in my computer
bios detects it

sorry if its stupid question
do i need to format it? how?

Posted by: slugo3

What OS?
If bios detects it your home free
If your using win98, boot with a boot flopy and use FDISK to add a partition then format it.

Yes, make some partition(s) first, then reboot and format.

winxp pro
havent partitioned it
how do i do it

Right-click on my computer, goto umm... administrate?, dunno what it's called exactly.
Next click on disk management (or something like that), then right-click on the drive and there should be an option there to partition it.

Heh, next time I'm going to install an english windows. That'll make things alot easier for me
