Oh god I know I shouldnt touch this.

But well...

I've no clue what BLOB is sounds like some stupid if you ask me, what yer looking to do sounds like a CGI News Script.

Ok I dont fully understand your message so I'll tell you what I think you mean:

You want to add news to your website with out going into the HTML and editing it each time. The e-mail thing im dissmissing cause it makes absolutely no sense unless yer trying to create a form that will e-mail people news.

Ok with that said I would advise you don't do anything hehe. CGI is messy stuff and even using someone elses script can be very difficulty and create tons of errors that even the most experienced programmer could get lost in. if however you are stuck on this notion you should goto http://www.perl.com/reference/query.cgi?cgi and look for a program that would allow you to update your news from a form.

Forms are just the happy little faces for programs to use kinda like a skin, without the cgi behind the form it doesnt do anything which is probably the problem you are running into.

Also you need to make sure the server you use for your web site supports cgi and fallow any special instructions the program you download has.

*IMPORTANT* though i told you all this before you do anything you must decide is this really that important to you and if it is maybe you should do some more learning before you go nuts i suggest http://www.webmonkey.com . Definetly before you do anything make a back-up of your site and save it somewhere so that if you jack it up trying to do this thing you can always restore it.

I know this is very general help but you gave a very general question, if you need more please include a link to the site in question and just tell me or whoever else is readin the thread exactly what you do know how to do and dont and what you've tried and failed.

OK OK OK I guess I was a little busy at work and a little druged up with I typed the first post...

Anyways here it goses again!!!

I want to have to different html pages.. the first one is where I input the news and stuff like that. FYI, this page I would have on my master Admin page.

The 2nd html page would be My main webmail that everyone int he world sees. This page would only have the output from the 1st page and other links or whatever off my main page.

I am about 95% sure this can be done with just html or some form of html.

The bad thing is I don't know cgi and I am not a programmer.

also I was wrong about the name (first time this week) The name is blog below is a link to where I found out about it.
http://tm0.com/sbct.cgi?s=124375576&i=317863&d=1233859

I borrowed some of the code from one of these blog sites and I have it sending the data (I think).. I hope this helps you out more.

Thanks for help,

Nbates

Hmm, blogs is a made up buzz word by techtv or whatever hehehe. I cant even begin to guess why unless they wanted to sound smart.

All those programs there in essence are premade cgi programs for you to use or php or whatever i haven't checked em out for myself.

I could be wrong but i dont think there is some pure html way to update anouther html page, you always need something backend to tell it what to do. So you would have two html pages, one password protected with the form and the other the news page. I dont know of any html command that will edit or create a file on the sever.

Well I dont really have anything to tell you. Try out the blog things, its not something i can help you trouble shoot though cause they are just little scripts made by punks like me and available from that site for people like you to use. Most people are proud of their work and will give you an e-mail address to send them questions or comments. Tell em what problem yer having with yers.

Its just the way that kinda stuff works isnt like telling you that your image isnt appearing on yer screen cause you forgot to put <img src="whatever.gif"> its a lot more complicated.
