A Cable Modem Question... Hidden in a Rant

Hey, quick question (didn't put it in support because it's really just more of me bitching but there really is a question). I have Cox Cable as my ISP (used to be @Home but they bought there own servers or something, I don't know. Not the point) There is an airport attached to the router so my mothers, my brothers, and my computer are all wireless. My mother's boyfriend set it up. Now for the past two weekends when he has been coming down he has been shutting of my laptop. It seems that he is having troubles with the network(of a sort) and for some reason believes that my computer is the problem. Aye, I leave it on at all times, and yes I do usually have something downloading from a P2P, but now this past time he just shut it off (from when ever he got here until just 20 minutes ago when I woke up) he is claiming the problem is the P2P allowing people to upload. 'They are saturating it because it is an open line' is what he said. So I explained to him that I have allowed one upload at a time capped at 128k/s (yes I'm a ***** but I don't want people uploading all the time either). This past weekend he accused me of having a virus/trojan/something and that is why he couldn't use the internet. Now I have been watching my network usuage (task manager) and it has never been above 2.2% avg of 1.2%. I guess what I'm getting to is this... Is there any truth to his claim or is he just a git?

there are virii rampant on kazaa if thats the one you use. its possible you could have one. but if you have a virus scanner running, its unlikely. but if hes throwing a fit, just turn off the uploads and run a scan in front of him.
but dude, get rid of the laptop and get a real computer.

aye red i run a scan every morning at 2am. i think it might just be that he doesnt know whats wrong so he assumes it must be me. but i shut down kazaa when i left for work this morning so he would stop bitching. you know its not so much the fact that hes bitching (i got pretty used to that last summer) its that he goes and shuts off the computer (with out my knowlege/permission) for no other reason than he cant get his to work as well as he thinks it should

okay well he finally figured out i wasnt the problem (only after i removed my ethernet card and carried it 25 ft away from the laptop) and realized that he was trying to get the other computer to run at 't-base100' (hey i dunno, he said it i just nod) and it was dropping packets, so he set it to 't-base10' and now it works fine

first off use kazza lite 
2nd can you beat him up?if so then do it n show him whos boss, ifnot(dont really expect you to be able to so i give u my plan heh) you get a friend to help you... crack him over the head with something,anything to knock him out then ya take him out to a tree(not in your front yard) and tie him upside down... leave him like that for a while, when he wakes up (leave him for like a day after) tell him you'll let him down if he quits being a dick... (my method involved torcher but feal free to change any part of it you want)

No thee. Maybe one day when your older, you'll understand that beating the shit out of someone only adds to the problem, because the person you beat up is bound to have friends, and if it gets media coverage, he'll have a lot more friends then you do.
Add it up. You and your friends won't compare to a few hundred angry people with all sorts of weapons.
Your method is also quite illegal, and lands you in jail for assault, and more. Though I don't think this bothers you.
Of course, so is sniffing glue, but I don't think that bothers you either
