LBA problem + bad clusters on HD. :(

Ok...my system.

HD - 30GB
Ram - 256 DDR
Motherboard - MSI KT333 Ultra
Gfx - GeForce 2 MMX
Sound - SB 5.1 Live

Right, I'm getting an error saying that my LBA may not be configured properly and I've also got bad clusters coming up on my HD. I've no idea how to configure the LBA as I can't find it in my BIOS settings. I'm wondering if the LBA problem is causing the HD to be read wrongly which is why I'm getting the bad cluster reports but I could be wrong (and I probably am cos I'm not really PC techie...as you can probably tell already) so if anyone has any ideas or needs more info can you please get back to me before i lose any more hair.

Cheers

Froots

Your hard drive is defective and must be replaced.

It's as simple as that. You can't "fix" it.

Try reformatting the drive, and or remaking the partitions with fdisk. If you don't know what these are... I'll have to explain them later. Either way you'd have to reinstall windows and all your drivers and the like.

I had hard drives reporting bad clusters before, but a format or partition usually ended that in a quick manner. I think it has something to do with the partitions going out of whack, and causing it to report bad clusters. I hate the way that hard drives are used and controlled. It shouldn't be so damned complicated... But what can you say? The more crap you have into something is the more crap that can go wrong. Let me say this though.. DO NOT let the bad clusters go. It can be a serious problem, and you need to deal with it A.S.A.P. No if's, an's or but's. Period.

If you don't know how to format or use FDISK, post back and I'll try making a little readme or something to help you out with this.
