A few days ago I was in my account and went to have dinner. When I returned and attempted to log in it told my my password was incorrect. Since than I have not been able to acess that acount however I made a new one also in US East which is working fine. I tried to reinstall diablo 2 to see if that would help but it still doest. I called technical support and they said if you had any hacks on your computer people could find out your password easily, I am aware of one hack but it is not for diablo 2, it makes you run faster in a game callled Ultima Online. If that has anything to do with people finding out my password do i just delete it? And is it at all possible to regain control of my account. SRY I WROTE A BIT AND THX FOR UR HELP.

if you have never downloaded anything related to battlenet, then its rather unlikely someone got into your account. thier server does occasionally lose your encryption. if this is the case the ONLY thing you can do is call them and ask them to reset your password. you need to be prepared with all the information stored with the account however, including cdkey.
now, they have thier own standards on when they will do this, and might not do it for your account. but there is no other way to get it back. keep in mind youll be paying for this call, its not toll free.

kinda weird though how i was playing 20 minutes before i came on and got this password error...

It's not that weird at all that you were playing happily 20 minutes before an error occured. Server problems and errors can happen at any time.

unfortuanatley i just found somthing on my computer from another game which makes you run faster which i mentioned above but i said its not anything to do with battle.net but recently i discovered that it does work with battle.net to make you run faster and cast spells 50 times faster but i asure you i will not use it. the hole point is would this be why my account doesnt work?

not unless it had a trojan in it.

I've heard of something called "Gear" that does that.
It'll screw up any program that uses the timer.

thats the program im talking about, but i never used it with my old account i thaught it only worked for a game ultima and when i discovered it worked for diablo 2 it was after this account was having problems and i dont even use it. But my old account with the password error is still screwed up and it pisses me off to have to start over.

When you allow a "speed up" program to place a Trojan on your computer, what makes you thing that the trojan will only effect the game you down loaded the speedup program for.
That Trojan will scan you computer and will most likely pass out you passwords for any game you play after your computer is infected.
Clean your computer remove all virui and trojans and start all over again. Learn from your mistake.
Unfortuneately you have no one to blame but yourself.
