I'm building a system
1.2 ghz amd athlon tb
kt7 raid abit motherbaord kt133 chipset
512 mb of mushkin rev 2 pc133 ram
power supply is a enermax 350 watt
lian li aluminum case pc 60
2 40gb ibm deskstar hdd @ 7200 rpm
pioneer dvd
plextor cd rw
I read the motherbaord manuel from cover to cover a few times.
I made sure I studied everything before putting it together.
After I connected everything into place and went for my first boot. Nothing turns on. I don't even hear anything from the power supply after a few seconds I do hear a tiny frequency that lasts about a half a second from the power supply, but that is it.
Nothing I mean NOTHING turns on.
I'm freaking out here
please help
I'm basically building the same type of setup from the open tech support manuel on how to build a computer.
is 350w too much power for this?

no such thing as too much power. arh arh arh

Verify that your power supply is set to 110 and not 220. If it is on 220 then just switch it over.
Next verify that the plug that runs from your power switch to your motherboard is plugged into the right spot and that the hot wire is plugged into the right one, according to the mobo guide.
Make sure everything is setated tightly and try again.

took everything apart again and put it all together and still no power what so ever. I changed power supplies and same thing I don't know what to do

It sounds like it may be your motherboard. If you have an older one, try plugging both of your psu's into it and seeing if they both boot. If they do, it's more than likely your motherboard. You can RMA, return it, etc and get yourself a new one.
EDIT: In response to chako, for the most part he is correct. That light should clue you in. I've experienced a psu i blew out, that still provided enough power to light the small LED on the mobo. Even if that light is lit, it doesn't rule much out, though it shifts the blame...

Hmmm...does your motherboard have a light that tells you if there is power to your motherboard. Many boards have this nifty feature.
Check your wiring once again. Pay attention to your case power switch, to the main power connector to your motherboard, etc...
Umm..don't shoot me..but I have seen this happen before...so no offence. Did you plug the computer into the power bar? You need to plug a power cord to your power supply.
No such thing as too much power where power supplies are concerned.
As for no power what so ever....is your wall outlet live? Your power supply should at least be running. If that is not working..then there is no power going to it..otherwise the fans would run. With that said..maybe a faulty power cord?

Been there done that chako, it's quite funny when you realise that all you had to do was plug it in properly
make sure you were reading the manual the right way up(done that too)

Well this is what happened so far
I switched out the psu to a totally different one that WORKS and after installation and pluggin in two different power cords, the psu did not turn, and still no power. My outlet is live since I run my stereo and other electronics at the same outlet.
I then decided to take everything out, and made sure that the mobo wasn't shortening out somewhere with the case.
Put everything back together again, I read the manuel from cover to cover about 5 times already, and made sure all my power led cables were connected into the right pins ont he pin1 and pin2 headers. I then just connected psu, mem, heatsink and one hard drive to see if that made a difference. Still no luck.
I gave up already and requested the RMA for the motherboard and the cpu.

If you still recieve problems, let us know. Though it sounds like you have everything sorted out already.
