When I go to "My Computer" It shows that I have a DVD drive in my computer. But I do not, I only have one CD-Rom.

I am using WinXP Pro
Here is a picture of "My Computer" screen.

It's probably XP.

I have a Plextor 24x CDRW drive and it shows up as a CDRW under My Computer.

My father has the exact same burner in his system, but it just shows up as a CD-ROM even though the burning features work fine.

Try removing it from the device manager and letting Windows re-detect it.

The problem is not XP detecting CDROM as a DVD ROM, but yet it is adding a DVD ROM.

I should only have that Origional CDROM drive with D2, showing up.

I just went into device Manager and Disabled the DVD ROM drive and now everything seems back to normal. I am still wondering why it shows I have two optical drives.

Ahh ok I mis-understood. I thought you had two drives by the picture and one of them was showing up as a DVD though it wasn't.
