hd access problems

just put this together and having some problems with games pausing when ever the hd's are accessed..
epox 8k3a+
amd xp 2200+
512 MB DDr pc2700 corsair
asus gf 3 ti200
slk800 w/ vantec tornado
2 60 gig IBM's
at first had problems with IRQ's the video and onboard audio found their way onto the same one.. i thought this was my problem. got the irq's straight and still pausing but only when hd light comes on.
using raid 0
with 2815 bios
2.32 driver for raid controller
the pauses last as long as the hd's lights are on too..

nothing particularly unusual in that. most games will pause during access. or are you complaining about the frequency and duration of the access?

frequent ya.. duration is maybe 5 seconds.. it's froze as long as the hd access light is on.. i've not had this problem with any other setups.. this is first time with raid..
