TN3270 Installation Issue

We've been using TN3270 for a while now, our latest upgrade being to version 2.2.4. Prior to that we were running version 2.1.6. The way we've upgrading users to 2.2.4 has been to install the trial version and then enter our license information to register it. I've done this on numerous machines without any problems until recently.
Last week I tried installing TN3270 ver 2.2.4 on a Compaq workstation running windows 2000 Professional. This machine had no prior installation of TN3270. The installation seemed to proceed smoothly however when I tried to run the executable by clicking the icon in the start menu nothing happened. The mouse pointer turned into an hourglass for about a second and that's it. Task manager shows no instances of Tn3270 running. I tried uninstalling it and then rebooted and installed it from a server to make sure my CD wasn't bad. Got the same results. Tried a colleague's CD and got the same results. The following day I tried installing it on a Compaq laptop and finally on my HP Vectra VLi8, all running Win2K Pro. Always the same result. I tried the older version, 2.1.6 and that installs fine. I'm sure there's something I've forgotten or am overlooking about the installation process because otherwise this does not make sense! : )
Any help greatly appreciated!

TN3270 is a type of terminal emulation. There are many applications that supply this emulation. I have personally used at least five different applications that provide TN3270 support. This software provides IBM terminal type 3270 emulation over a telnet connection.
So, what is the real name of your application? Because the version numbers are pretty useless without knowing what application you are running.
I would recommend seeing if your "new" version is supported on the operating system you are trying to use. It's most likely going to be an operating system issue versus the hardware.
