I had a 90Mhz Cpu with Win95B It ran well I had 128MB in 4x 32 simms.
I upgraded my motherbaord form sokcet 5 to socket 7<
(this is a machine I have fun with build it and put a few bucks on... anyway I upgraded the cpu to a 133..

Now I have:
128Mb Simms
and 133Mhz cpu
2 Seagate hds at 850mb each

Now I formatted my C: and left only the win98 installation folder on my D: (E: is an 8X cd rom)
I installed Win98SE and all my drivers for Sb32 and my SMC 1208T

I got my AMD Athlon Xp 1900+ hooked to a hub with it and got winzip, winamp kazaa lite and IE 6, Office 97 PRO and adware (I uninstalled kazaa afterwards since I only used it for fast full program dling...

i wanted to install WINME but it took a 150Mhz or I couldnt run set up.

Problem:

I feel that my 133 works hard to get win98se started and running stable except win95B would be easy for it since my 90 took it easy...

Now that I got win98 on it win95B is a little bit boring since its driver book is so empty that with it I need to get my driver s manually but with win 98SE I dont do a thing ... anyway I am planning on getting a 200...

Who thinks I should keep win98 since its all settled in cozy and tough it until I get my 200... making it easier to almost 50% for it to start win98

And who thinks win95 would be better for stability issues????????!

THX I KNOW MY POST IS LONG BUT I TRY MY BEST TO KEEP IT SIMPLE SORRY FOR THOSE WHO HATE READING LONG POSTS..

Since you are asking for opinions, Win98SE is more stable and compatible than Win95.

Stick with Win98 SE and you won't regret it. On such as machine, its best to keep as many luxuries as possible at bay, such as animated menus and 32 bit colour. Here's a link that would help make Win98 run better.

Used some of its suggestions to on my old machine and found it useful.
