How do I setup an FTP server on my machine or just how can someone FTP something to my machine?
I use ws_ftp, do I need something more?

WS FTP is an FTP client, you need an FTP server.
I'd go for Serv-U (I'm using that myself ), very easy to configure.
I also used G6 (or Bulletproof, whatever they call themselves these days) FTP server, that was decent too but IMO Serv-U is better.
Oh, and if you install it and give the wrong users the wrong rights, they can delete your HD and do other things like that, so be carefull with giving people delete/upload/append rights
