Posted by: Canis Lupus

Not a fan ... I don't even listen to him... come to think of it, who the hell is he again? Hehehe ...

lol

lol

Posted by: justinious

He ranks up on my top 10 hated list. He's just above Mariah Carey and having bladder stones crushed.

Posted by: Outlaw

He's also one of the best lyricists around, not many people can rhyme like him, so I wouldn't expect him to leave anytime soon.

Posted by: The_Turks(ff7)

i have hear of him but who is he?

Word.

I'm a fan, not die-hard by any means, but I like rap when it's good. And he can rhyme like a mother****er. Something I like to see in rap, personally.

Posted by: Pepsi-Man[OTS]

hell no i love eminem. one of my favorite singers. i cant wait to go see his movie

Posted by: Xtren

I'm not a fan of rap at all, but among rap artists I actually think Eminem is pretty good. His latest music has cut down on all the vulgur crap and he seems to be over the whole family issue.

Therefore I don't hate his music, but as for him, well I'm not a fan of the type of person he is. I mean Eminem is really controversial and all, but I hate how rude he is to other people, and particularly the way he behaves in public. Of course it probably reflects on the way he's been brought up.

If Eminem would just quit making fun of other people I'd be fine with his music, it's really not that bad.

Posted by: Null Actor

Eminem has some quality tracks. Not too many, but some.

He also has some seriously great lyrics in some songs, very political.

Posted by: Xtren

These "political" lyrics however, often turn out to be offensive to somebody one way or another. It really depends on how you base your opinion of a person. Eminem's songs are ok, but the way he acts makes some people hate everything about him anyway, regardless of how good his lyrics are.

Posted by: Ion Silverbolt

I'm no fan of rap, but I admire anyone who is not afraid to speak their mind. Offensive or not. And this guy is getting a fortune for doing it too.

*gasp*

ARE U SERIUS SIR????? I AM NOT SO SUR!!!111

Hi. I'm a rhyming dictionary. I think up rhymes, so you dont have to.

Oh, and also, lots of rhymes doesnt immediately equal great lyrics.

As far as rap lyricists go, the big "E" is slightly above average.

Yeah... ok

Posted by: TheeMon

nwa kid, you say your a big rap fan but you hate one of the very VERY few public(underground dont count) rappers with talent... dmx has great talent to but he just kinda drifted off somewhere

Posted by: AK47

that somewhere was called "Exit Wounds"

You obviously haven't heard alot of songs from him.

And TheeMon, NWA Kid didn't post in this thread

Posted by: Outlaw

People say Eminem is controversial and offensive to certain people, I wonder what they would think of him if his cd's weren't censored in some places, which I BTW think is just plain stupid, they say "explicit lyrics" on the cd cover and then they censor parts of it...

Posted by: N.W.A_Kid

Thee NOOOOOOOOOOOO! HOW COULD YOU? I LOVE DMX!!!!!

Also, I like Eminem, he is one of the greatest of this time period. And I don't know any other famous white rapper who can rhyme like him. Dr. Dre is the best producer by far and I'll argue that with J.D. until pigs fly, but my girlfriend hates him with a passion. I grew up on rap so I'm more into keeping it gangsta than all this money money money stuff. But rap isn't for everyone, everyone is entitled to their own opinions. Yes Eminem is done with the family thing, he's closed it on his records or so he says. I just wish Dr. Dre would do another album, OR THAT NWA WOULD GET BACK TOGETHER LIKE THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO BACK IN 2000!!! I went on a rampage when the CD didn't come out. Oh well everyone is too busy anyway. Although I'm still not happy about Snoop taking Eazy's place. Then again the biggest N.W.A fans have a hard time naming all of the original members.

I believe Dr. Dre is making a new album, he's gonna release it together with Ice Cube's new album next year.

I don't know if you noticed it but all Dr. Dre raps about is himself, how great he is, and money. Still he stands out from the rest, he's not just any moron trying to make money rapping.

Posted by: N.W.A_Kid

yes he does rap about money now. But yet, he did something new way back in 1987-88 and of course I respect him for that. He was one of the 5 who started my whole rap life. But then again I guess there are exceptions. Going from nothing to something deserves the right I suppose. I just can't stand people like Nelly, or Cash Money, or No Limit...who make it look like money is everything. Money is 85% of the world probably, but money can't buy you everything. It can buy you temporary happiness, but I know I could be the richest man in the world but w/o my girlfriend, I would be lost. And when you have a lot of money, bad things happen. Bigger taxes, some friends show their true colors, people start popping up pretending to be family, my aunt is broke but a girl has come back saying that she is her long lost daughter that she gave up for adoption years ago, somehow I doubt it. It could be, but this girl is very very shady.

Posted by: TheeMon

ahh he was in another movie too... romeo must die? maybey

Posted by: Xtren

Uhh... Who was in another movie?

Posted by: Outlaw

DMX, he was in Exit Wounds and Romeo Must Die.

Posted by: AK47

DMX I'm guessing. Yeah, he was in Romeo Must Die-- as was Aaliyah.

Is it ok to make jokes about her yet?

Posted by: Canis Lupus

As long as you allow dead Morrison jokes, I guess it's okay hehe

Posted by: AK47

By all means, bring them on!

I havent heard any good ones about him

Posted by: TheeMon

no no i ment he was in a diff movie too lol

Posted by: N.W.A_Kid

When is Bob Barker going to do another movie???

Posted by: Erekose

you know the only movie i ever saw aliyah in was queen of the damned (which i hear sucked big time in comparison to the novel, but ive been wanting to read that series anyways. now more of a reason too) her acting was pretty good i thought (of course her wardrobe didnt negativly influence my opinion any) but ive never heard any of her music

Posted by: Spider

Good beats ... thanks to Timbaland.

Posted by: Xtren

She died in some kind of an accident a year ago didn't she? That's probably why you haven't heard much of her music Erekose.

Posted by: TheeMon

yes a plain crash heh

Posted by: TheeMon

yes i wanna know too!

Posted by: Spider

You said "a plain crash" instead of "a plane crash"
I'm assuming.

Posted by: TheeMon

lol kinda funny but not quite...

Posted by: Freak

Hehe I don't know, the oxymoron just cracked me up. Wierd.

Posted by: Erekose

'a plain crash' is an oxymoron? i though 'controlled crash' would be more oxymoronic (wow is that a word?)

i dont hate him, i actually like his songs and music and listen to it regularly.
I think he's a good singer and writer. Some of his songs aint "nice" but its truthful.

Posted by: Xtren

I think his latest have been his greatest... they have gotten less vulgur... and with the movie and all I think he's making some progress in his life...

Posted by: PMS GURL

isnt the movie based on his life?

Yes

Posted by: N.W.A_Kid

Have to agree on that one. The man has made tons of progress, and I must say I am impressed by anyone who goes from absolutely nothing to having everything they could possibly want the hard way.

Posted by: NightMage

Uhm just a bit of info 8 - Mile isn't about Eminem aka Slim Shady aka Marshall Mathers III it's about another Rap Artist from Detroit who's life was very similar to Eminem's. Trust me, I live with an Eminem fanatic.

And in my opinion anyone who feels that "the Real Slim Shady should shut up" has never listened to, or only heard a few of his songs.

N.W.A would you agree that the MOST controversial song he has brought out was on his latest album..... 'White America' is the song, in it he tells America and the world exactly what America is really like.

But like him or hate him he's here to stay.... but no longer as the bad boy we have all come to know.

Nah, you're seeing it all wrong.

Everytime he brings out another album, he start rapping less bullshit than the one before.

If he's no longer the bad boy we've all come to know, then why are his lyrics still getting censored (8 Mile OST - Rap Game)?

What do you mean by the hard way... Eminem had tallent and became a musician... I'm not really sure if that's what you'd call the hard way...

Posted by: Outlaw

Eminem had talent and became a musician.
He made an album, nobody bought it.
He made another album, nobody bought it.
His producer (and friend) killed himself.
Eminem almost killed himself.

And then he placed 2nd in a contest and met Dr. Dre, and they all lived happily ever after.

Posted by: justinious

except for the producer

Did the reason for the producer killing himself have anything to do with Eminem though... or just personal problems?

Posted by: N.W.A_Kid

Either way, Eminem had it hard. I've never known the meaning of the word meager until I tried depending on myself. All my friends who are way less fortunate I'll never know their pain or struggle, but I get the idea by being in their areas every day and night. Eminem didn't have it easy. He did a lot of underground. Just because a musician has talent and becomes famous, doesn't mean they had it easy before that. Look at Eazy-E, the man who's shadow I put myself in. Hustling, drug dealing, everything he did, then finally came out on top (with Dre's help of course) but that's another story. I am the biggest N.W.A fan and Eazy-E fan that ever lived. Those days still aren't over either, just through the music. *sigh* memories of my childhood... I still wear my Compton hats and L.A. clothes with pride.

Posted by: Canis Lupus

Compton may be considered a shithole from time to time, but it ain't Bangladesh...

Posted by: N.W.A_Kid

No it isn't, and neither is Detroit. But somebody from Bangledesh could have tons of problems, have talent, and come out as an actor or musicioan or what not. And that is somebody to idolize. Someone who went from rags to riches but had to earn it and it wasn't just given to them. People who earn their prizes tend to appreciate them more, and miss them more when they're gone.

Posted by: Canis Lupus

In Bangladesh, people are too busy trying to stay alive to even consider their "other" problems ...

Success against all odds isn't just measured by record albums, or number of fans, or how much money you make ...

nobody kills themself because of another person. period.

thats not the hard way. the hard way is working a minimum wage job to support your musical career. i have zero respect for people that turn to crime instead of making an honest living.

Posted by: N.W.A_Kid

to me turning from crime to make an honest living is good enough. If you stop and think "Hey, this is a dead end I need to do something with my life," and make a total change then it shows you have some smarts in you. Anyone who stays in the crime game is bound to get caught sooner or later, so why not make a break before it's too late?

To me, success is living happily and wealthy, happily and comfortably, or happily. The richest man in the world is one who has a family he loves and who loves him. Eric made some mistakes and got AIDS and died, but not before having too many kids, yet his son is now on his label doing his thing. And he had a loving wife too. He made it to the top, regardless of how he did it. I only wish that one day I can do something to live the best way possible. Even if it is a 9 to 5 job.

Posted by: Xtren

Everybody dreams of being wealthy and living a happy life, but I suppose being rich isn't as important as simply acheiving your goal in life. Some person's goal may be to simply have a loving family, while another's may be to find a cure for a deadly disease. Whether or not the goal is farfetched or very simple doesn't matter as long as you can achieve it. Money isn't everything, and it doesn't necessarily lead to happiness. Just because Eminem went from living on the streets to becoming a famous rapper doesn't mean he no longer feels sadness when he looks back on his life and the way he was brought up. Afterall he never grew up in a family that really loved him, and maybe he longs for that.
