Schizophrenia may be an array of different disorders rather than one single disease, doctors believe.
Research carried out in the United States suggests there could be at least three different types.
The doctors suggested that their findings may explain why a broad range of symptoms can be diagnosed as schizophrenia.
They added that their study may also indicate why scientists have found it difficult to identify the causes of the disease - particularly if they believe it is just one disease.
fascinating.

roses are red,
violets are blue,
i'm schizophrenic,
and i am too!
(yes, i realise that there is a difference between schizophrenia and multiple personality disorder, but the poem doesn't sound good if you say, "i have multiple personality disorder, and i do too!")

hmmm, i wonder....

Multiple personality disorder falls under the umbrella of one of the types of schizophrenia.
And, this research/information isn't new enough to be chronologically excluded from a 4-year old edition of a psychology textbook. I don't see anything in that article that is groundbreaking.
