ok, i have A LOT of car Questions.
1- do you need to weigh down a tracker for winter and does it matter if its a 4x4 for deciding?
2- what would be wrong if my heater doesnt blow hot air but cold air?
3- why would my E brake light be coming on and off as i drive?
4- why would my tracker thingy be revving when i start it but after like 15 mins it goes to normal and is that normal for a 89 car to do that?
any answer would be helpful to me!!! thanks

1- I have no idea... I live in Arizona and don't know what snow is..
2- I have no idea... I live in Arizona and only use my heater when it is below 30 for the one day of winter we have
3- the brake may not be totally disengaged.. don't know how the brake is set up in a tracker but in my Dakota I sometimes get a "Phantom" Light.. just pull the brake release.. it goes away..
4- sounds like it needs a tune up.. if it is fuel injected it may need to have the injecters cleaned..
All these are somewhat educated guess's but I would ask around and check the net for a good mechanic in your area and take it to them..
This is the site of the Mechanic I take my truck to.. he happens to be the best one in Phoenix in the opinion of me and many many other ppl.. you may find some info there.. http://www.marksalem.com/best-shops...st-shop-USA.htm
Hope this helps..

1-I was told it's always a good idea to weigh down any rear wheel drive car during winter. If it's a 4x4 there's going to be a big weight difference on the front and rear traction because of the engine weighing on the front axle. Weighing down the back axle sure wouldn't hurt.
2-How cold is it exactly? I had the same trouble with my '84 Sentra, but only on 10 degree F days.
Here's the site for NPR's car gurus Click and Clack: http://cartalk.cars.com/
Hope it's useful!

well it revv's on days thats as warm as 10 but i just bought the car barely a month ago ( i know, its a bad idea to buy a car and not get it looked at first) so i dont really know when it doesnt revv cuz its been cold here kinda

about not blowing hot air, if it never blows hot air no matter how long you drive you arent getting any heat transfer from your radiator, this is bad. if you have an engine temp gauge you should be watching that when you drive, if the temp on the gauge goes up but youre still blowing cold air this is a problem. i had the a problem with my car overheating and not blowing hot air because of a bad thermostat, you might want to get it checked out. one easy way to fix it though is to check your fluid level in your radiator

Uh, I dont get what you're saying.
Me thinks the tracker isnt such a hot used car Sorry to hear about all the problems

By "tracker thingy" do you mean "engine"? And is this after 15 minutes of sitting in the driveway running or 15 minutes of driving? I mean, do you start the car and sit in it in the driveway and the engine stays at a high number of revs (idling high), or do you have trouble with it not automatically shifting gears when you're driving (assuming it's an automatic, that is).
Idling high means you need a tuneup. Not shifting into the next gear could mean you need a tuneup, but it could also mean your car is a piece of junk with a bad transmission. That's what happened to my old Beretta before I had to put it out to pasture (that was the last straw, anyway). Hope you didn't pay too much for your Tracker...
And yeah, I agree with Erekose about the temperature gauge and radiatior -- get them checked out.

heh speaking of which i need to put my thermostat back in... my father removed it and put some sort of orange gunk in it so the fluids would constantly circulate. heh it works

tracker thingy means its a tracker GMC
and it revv's when i first start it for 15 mins, i dont drive it til it stops revving ( in the morning) but after school i dont....im guessing thats bad
and it is standard
anybody has a guess-a-mate of how much a tune up and thomometer is? ( sorry i cant spell )

thermometers are relatively cheap (like no more than 20$ id figure) but radiators arent heh if you dont know much about yoru car id take it to a professional you trust to figure out whats wrong

thermostats is what I think you are refering to.. they run about $7-10 at a auto parts store.. require some tools to install.. Radiators are $100 and up... I put one in my truck a while back.. did it myself.. Radiator, Cap, Anti-Freeze... Total was $200.. but I did all the work..

thermo...stat?!? oh crap ill be right back!
