Posted by: PMS GURL

today i was driving in a school zone and the speed posted is 30 but dumbass me, didnt pay attention and went 53 thru it. But the sad thing bout this is that i live in this area and drive thru this everyday. So right when i was thru the zone, i saw a ghost car and slammed on my brakes to the 30 limit but i got a ticket still. GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR

113$ now i owe. and then he was gonna charge me with driving under the influence cuz he thought my root beer on my dashboard was a beer. GRRR
I HATE COPS

Posted by: Canis Lupus

well, no offense, but you deserve the ticket - it's a school zone after all

you're lucky you're not in LA ... the cops here are cheesy campers...

Posted by: PhantomGamer

LoL thought your root-beer was beer lol thats funny but i agree you do deserve the ticket

Posted by: PMS GURL

it was 2:30pm and school was out for another hour and no kids ever cross the road there so its not a big deal
we only got this new law bout 2 months ago cuz some lil native boy got hit and dragged by my old highschool for 10 blocks by a highschool student from my school and the lil boy died i dont see how the teen could hit a kid and keep driving its too sad

Posted by: ZeRo_MaXwInG

That is sad. But those are the laws and you broke it.

Posted by: PMS GURL

grrr

Posted by: AK47

53 in a 30 zone.

Yeah, you earned that ticket.

Pay it and slow down

Posted by: Spider

It took me 75 minutes to get home from a friends house earlier. That's roughly ten miles away. I swear to ****ing god nobody in Denver knows how to drive in the snow. Everyone was IDLING DOWN THE FREEWAY

you shouldn't speed in school zones

Posted by: TheeMon

a friend of mine got a ticket for doing 125 in a 55

spider u have snow allrdy?

Posted by: Spider

Today was the first day. It looked like 3-4 inches on the car this morning when I was leaving for class.

Posted by: Pepsi-Man[OTS]

OMG ur complaining hehe i had bald tires on my suv when i was coming around a turn i skidded A BIT like nothing barely made any noise. this cop pulled me over and gave me a ticket for exposistion of speed or some lame shit like that and that ticket is 125$ and i wasnt even speeding and i didnt purposely skid around that turn

Posted by: redwench

when did you get an suv? and why do you have bald tires?

Posted by: AK47

Dont know when he got it, but they're probably bald from skidding around turns

Posted by: redwench

roffle!!!11oneone

Posted by: Fink

omfg pepsi, you ment to lol, and it was right at the corner of the street where a cop station was hehe. i was in the car with and and there was another guy with us too. but me and pepsi were waving at the chicks passing by as the cops were writing the ticket lol

That deserves more than a ticket, thee! 125 in a 55 is way to fast, 125mph is pretty much to fast for any driving.

It is suppose to snow here in NJ

Posted by: Sarc

Well, at-least you guys have cars to go get tickets in.

wtfxr. No its not. It doesn't snow in NJ until January.

What part of NJ do you live in?

Posted by: Null Actor

The snowy part?

Posted by: redwench

its gonna snow here this weekend. im psyched.

Posted by: ZeRo_MaXwInG

It's probably global warming or something, last year, it didnt snow until boxing day. But it's still pretty darn cold.

*from the original post*

Only $113 for 23 over in a school zone? If I had done that here (in alabama), the fine would be three times that, and my license would be suspended for 90 days.

$113 for reckless driving in a school zone is nothing.

Posted by: Null Actor

The original post is in km/h.

Posted by: Qui Gon-Jinn

Tickets Suck.. yep simple as that...

Let me list all of the ones I have recived..

Speeding 65 in a 45
Driving without a License (3 times)
Driving without Insurance
Driving without proof of Registration
Speeding 55 in a 45 (Photo Radar in Mesa Az)
Speeding 75 in a 65
Speeding 75 in a 55
Speeding 47 in a 35
Speeding 85+ in a 55 (Got that one dropped after going to school)
No Insurance (Dropped after I took in proof of Insurance)

Also have a charge of Failure to Control speed to avoid an accident (Went to school got it dropped)

I think in total I have paid over $3.000.00 to enjoy my privilage to drive.. most of the fines where from when I was 18-21... since Jan of this year.. only the last two speeding tickets.. but gotta try to keep my foot off the gas from now on.. new truck and all..

Posted by: taco_fox

I've never gotten a ticket.

damn, arizona must be tolerant. you wouldnt be driving til 2005 in most places, if ever. and thats just from those 2 offenses alone.

Posted by: Nfested

It didn't snow where I live. And if it did, it was probably little specks of snow that I did not notice.

Posted by: Nfested

The weatherman said it was suppose to snow though.

its a big deal to me. We just got this law and everyone is against it here

30 is so slow for driving. i feel like a 90 yr old lady driving that speed, grrr

Posted by: Canis Lupus

It's not like it's 30 in all streets - just in school zones .. surely you can manage it, unless you have the habit of pulling up into your garage at 50

Oh jeez. You drive an old, broken, Geo Tracker. Its not like its got any pick up. You have to make a conscious attempt to go fast. LAY OFF THE GAS! Oh, and just so you know, speeding around everywhere is definately a factor in why your car is falling apart.

This whole thread just further goes to show that nobody under 25 should be driving.

Posted by: redwench

that would be you ak. and shes talking km/hr. 30 is slow

Posted by: AK47

Yeah, it would be me. I'm aware. and I'm far from innocent. I've done plenty of stupid stuff behind the wheel.

Ah yes, km/hr. 30 is slow, but if thats whats posted, drive it and dont complain when you get a ticket for breaking the law. Thats all

Posted by: Muggs

HAHA kathy got a ticket

there are like big ass signs here that post the speed limit but i can like run faster than 30km/h and im a lazy bastard

oh and AK her trackers falling apart cause she bought it that way

Posted by: Pepsi-Man[OTS]

yah it was pretty funny accept when i got the ticket $$$ fink was there my other friend sliding around the damn car with no seat belt almost got me another ticket the cop told me i better telll him to put his seat belt on b4 he gives me another ticket for that...

Posted by: redwench

you let people in your car without seatbelts? not a good choice.

Posted by: Spider

Why? He doesn't get the ticket, they do. If they want to fly through the windshield on impact, that's their choice.

Posted by: AK47

I though that its the driver's responsibility.

Posted by: Tweaker

Drivers are responsible for themselves and for all child passengers less than age 18 in the front or back seat.

Drivers licensed at age 16 through 18th birthday and older are responsible for themselves and would get the ticket.

It's set that way to prevent children from being hurt/killed by irresponsible drivers. Too many times drivers get impatient and break the speed law in a school zone and children get hurt. Consider that ticket a blessing in disguise, the next time you might not be so lucky.

Posted by: redwench

spider, if you have an at fault accident, and your passenger goes thru the windshield and dies, guess whos up on vehicular homicide or manslaughter charges? and one would assume that the driver doesnt want his friends injured or dead, which airbags will do if the windshield doesnt.

Posted by: Canis Lupus

Any accident that happens in and out of the car is always the driver's fault

Posted by: redwench

can be the other drivers fault. but its usually yours

i go 60 all the way down my street and slam on my brakes like 10 metres from my mom's car.
i drive like my dad

buddie, you dont know anything.

my car isnt all broken down and falling apart, it just needs 1 damn part and it'll be like brand new.
and for you saying a tracker cant go over 30, i dunno what kinda tracker you been in but im guessing it wasnt worth even plating. i can get my car up to 130 ( it only has 140 in the dashboard thingy)
you may stereotype me as being a bad driving cuz of ONE ticket but i've never been pulled over before and never had an accident in 2 years ( ive had my licence now for 2 years being tomorrow). I think people over 30 suck at driving!!!!

im guessing you wont make it to 30. i havent had a ticket or citation in over 10 years. sorry, but i dont suck at driving, i actually have control.

Posted by: AK47

Well, everything I've said is based on what you've posted here.

Judging from your 'whats wrong with my car' thread, your car was in pretty bad shape. But, if you say it only needs one part to be like brand new, then thats good.

And as far as me thinking your a bad driver, the only thing I can base that on is:

"driving in a school zone and the speed posted is 30 but dumbass me, didnt pay attention and went 53 thru it."

You broke the law (by going close to double the speedlimit) and you have the nerve to complain that the cop gave you a ticket.

I just dont agree.

Posted by: Canis Lupus

Hehehe, if anyone hates driving slower than 50 in ANY street, they should relocate to Saudi Arabia - particularly the open desert

Posted by: AK47

Montana would be a good choice too.

Posted by: PMS GURL

see, im not complaining about the ticket ( i know i did something wrong and am paying for the ticket) but im saying that 30 is extremely slow and even the cops think 30 is too damn slow.
when i ws drivng 53, i ws driving the speed limit for the rest of the city and i totally forgot bout the new law which is stuppid of me.

Bad driving has nothing to do with tickets. Anyone calling you in a bad driver are doing so based on what you've told us of your driving habits.

Posted by: Erekose

30 km/h (roughly 20mph if i did the math right) is NOT too slow to be driving in a school zone. i take it youve never been hit by a car. i have, it sucks. the car that hit me was doing 15mph (thats about 25km/h) on impact and i should have been sent to the hospital. now im a big rugged guy, i can take a lot of physical abuse. imagine hitting a small child going 53km/h (35mph). if you want to drive fast, do so. just make damn well sure no one else is being placed in jeopardy. im not directing this at you in general pms, i myself drive faster than i should at times, but its just something to keep in the back of your head the next time you go double the speed limit (which would land you in jail in ri)

Posted by: Null Actor

Yeah, there is a reason why the limit is 30km/h. At that speed, you can stop pretty much instantly if you have to. Which means you can stop within about a half second of realizing you have to. Stopping distance is probably less than 2m.

Posted by: PMS GURL

my driving doesnt surprise anyone in my city cuz saskatoon was voted worse drivers in the world.

Notice the "Driving on a Suspended Licence" charge(s).. I had my license suspended for 3 years.. didn't stop me from driving..

The Suspension was for not paying the fine for the first speeding ticket..

I drive alot now.. average 500 miles a week or so... Delivering Pizza really racks up the miles.. and hours driving..

I think the most I have driven in one single 24 hour period is 450 miles.. Phoenix to LA.. and then 2 days later.. drove back.. all for a Lan.. and I didn't get a single ticket that weekend..

Posted by: AltronHGX

Thing I have to remember about this thread is that the person who is posting is posting their speed in metric units...

My eyes were watering after reading the first 15 posts.

Posted by: Qui Gon-Jinn

Mine are in MPH.. sorry didn't note that.. maybe I did.. to tired to care right now..

Posted by: FakeSnake

Ahh, driving so great, I've been doing for about oh... 2 weeks now

Yeah, I just got my student permit, hehe, and I've managed to almost hit someone, although it was not my fault, I think...., well, here's the story. You decide.

I'm driving home from church, going at the posted speed limit and so on and so forth. There's this lady, she's jogging down the street, well on the sidewalk. She's fast approaching the corner of the street. Well, there's a guy walking a dog, a poodle, on the sidewalk perpendicular to her's. As they both near the corner, the poodle jumps on her and the lady freaks out, she jumps into the middle of the street in front of my car. Fortunately, with my cat-like reflexes I brake in time and steer away a bit.

Yeah, fun stuff... driving, heh........

Posted by: PMS GURL

if you woulda hit her, it would have been considered yr fault.
she had the right of way no matter what.
its a dumb law

Posted by: Canis Lupus

That's where the speed limit actually helped ya ... if you were going any faster than the posted speed limit, you woulda hit the jogger, regardless of your cat-like reflexes

It's not a dumb law, otherwise motorists would just run people down in the streets. Contrary to popular belief most traffic laws do have a very real reason for existing.

Posted by: PMS GURL

well i think its a dumb ass law, for the fact (ex.) that retards will cross the road at any given point because there too damn lzy to walk the 12 feet to the cross walk. and if u hit them, its yr fault.

Posted by: redwench

not in most places. i didnt think anywhere but california had those silly pedestrian laws.

It's your fault, because if you are paying attention to the road and its surroundings, even if someone decides to cut through traffic, you'll almost always have plenty of time to slow down, or stop, or whatever it takes. Unless the person is suicidal, but that's a different case.

The whole point of having it your fault if you hit them, is so that you'll be aware of your surroundings and make sure to NOT hit someone.

It's not a 'dumb ass law' if it keeps people from running people down in the streets. The way you talk, it sounds like the law is the only thing stopping you from driving right through people.

Posted by: Canis Lupus

Well, consider this (ex.) you are obligated to slow down 10-15 feet from the crosswalk anyway, so if you hit em from 12 feet away it's STILL your fault coz you weren't slowing down (unless you got your measurements confused ... 15 feet is the distance of the freethrow line from the hoop in basketball).

Anyway, regardless of whether retards cross the street or not, vigilance and alertness is part of driving. You should already see someone crossing the street from several feet away, and therefore you are obligated to slow down, unless you really intend to hit em on purpose, hehe

This is why I despise people who use cellphones while they're driving ... many accidents are caused by people who are not giving their full attention to the road... and this includes pedestrians and drivers...

Posted by: PMS GURL

well my point is at night, you cant see people when they run across the street and we have a law here saying you have to wear reflective clothin if yr out at night, and no one does.
i pay attention to the other cars by me because ive been in 6 accidents, all others faults and been seriously injured ( cracked spine, head injury, etc). also, my city was named one of the worst city of drivers in canada so when im driving, i try and protect myself from accidents, not watch out for people who dont walk for the walk signal or jay walk.

Posted by: Null Actor

Do you drive without headlights? Does the town/city you live in have no streetlights at all? Because I've never had a problem seeing walkers/joggers at night, no matter where I lived or driven.

Posted by: Ion Silverbolt

Yeah even children are easy to spot IMO. Maybe your windows are fogged up. Try using the defrost button if your car has one.

Posted by: justinious

The students at the local University disregard traffic on campus as a rule. When I was doing freshmen orientation our guide actually told us, "If you're running late, you can ignore the crosswalks. They [the motorists] will stop for you." There have been several pedestrian v. motor vehicle accidents as a result. I can't count the number of times someone has just stepped off the sidewalk into moving (albiet slowly, 5mph at most) traffic. I'm not saying the pedestrian right-of-way law is stupid, but if you have balls enough to step in front of a moving, 2000 lb. vehicle you should pay the doctor bills, not the driver.

Posted by: Shalome

Justin, that's actually a Columbia law that applies to campus streets. But yeah, people are idiots about it -- both the late folk who dash out into traffic, and the morons trying to plow through campus during class-changing time at 40mph on 15mph roads....

Posted by: PMS GURL

sunglasses dont help. I've boughten over 30 pairs, different shades, different designers. glaze, is glaze.
i was wearing sunglasses when i was driving on the highway and i couldnt barely see anything and i went to pull over and i deer ran into my car, you cant tell me, if i had darker glasses, i wouldnt have hit it, going 50 under the speed limit

Posted by: PMS GURL

my posts aint going to the bottom hmmm

its not walker/joggers at night, its lil 5-18 yr old native kids
i do have headlights on my car but they aint really bright enough to see when anyone runs out. and the street lights aint really bright either, because all the main streets r connected to residential streets which they residents comment bout the brightness and they r changed to dimmer ones so.

Do your glasses have racial filters or something? Cause I think a humanoid shape is pretty easy to recognize, regardless of the time of day.

Posted by: PMS GURL

this summer there was 3 kids hit by cars ( only one died as a result) and they figured that the way the city is set up, is if yr heading any way by north, yr sight of the road will decrease do to the sun's glaze. If yr heading south-west in my city from sun rise to sunset, yr driving blind.

Posted by: Outlaw

And that's why they invented sunglasses...
