... and here is a list of the cuts to the movie for anyone who is interested in seeing it.
-early bit where Bail Organa speaks
-Obiwan in the library
-Obiwan, Yoda, and Mace Windu walking along the corridor talking
-Anakin saying "not like here, everything is soft, and smooth"
-entire field scene
-Anakin dreaming
-beginning and end of Obiwan's message to coruscant from Kamino ("scramble code 4 to coruscant" and "I'll report back when I have him")
-Boba Fett firing the ship weapons at Obiwan (and most cuts to him in the cockpit)
-introduction to Ben
-part of the chase through the asteroids
-beginning and end of Anakin's temper tantrum after killing the sand people.
-Dooku entering chamber where Obiwan is being held. (scene starts in the middle of the conversation)
-Threepio telling Artoo that he's "programmed to understand humans"
-Threepio hanging on to the front of the flying bot in the factory then getting tossed off
-The first bit with the molten whatever pouring in to a container (the one that makes you think it'll be in Padme's)
-The council convincing Jar Jar to vote emergency powers for Palpatine

yeah a friend of mine saw it on imax and he was pretty dissappointed. besides the cuts, he was pissed because he sat too close.

is this posibly the first good movie to EVER make it to I-max?

Dude, there have been tons of decent movies on the iMax. They had Apollo 13 playing on the iMax in the Smithsonian in D.C. last week when I was there.
Also, they had a neato Galapagos Islands (In 3D) movie playing a few months ago. I don't visit there too often, but every time I go there's always something interesting to see.

Apollo 13 sucked on the small screen the big screen would only add to the suckage
never heard of Galapagos Islands (In 3D) all have to conside you that one, this time...

...those were scenes cut from the film before it was put on imax?
Posted by: AngstMerchant
WOW!! The IMAX?! On a screen that size, you might be able to actually see the thin lines of plot and dialogue connecting the huge action scenes. . .normally they're almost invisible.

Quiet you!
Yeah Erekose, IMAX movies can only be 2 hours long, so they had to cut 20-some minutes out of the movie.

They opened an Imax here in Boise but closed it down about a year later. It's still there with a big fat for sale sign on it.
I should buy it and wire up a few Xboxs for some 16 player Halo action on big screen.

Definately! Somewhere did that-- I saw it on Tech Tv. Looked awesome.

Yeah I saw that to. They were playing Gotham Racing. Looked damned sweet, even though GR isn't the greatest of racing games.

i dunno i guess i'll never understand the point of showing/watching a movie if you're not going to watch the whole thing

Well, seeing it in enhanced detail on the IMAX kicked ass, but it is unfortunate that they had to chop up the movie. It was pretty jarring.
One thing - The enhanced detail of the movie allowed me to notice something interesting. On Kamino, when it was showing the clones 'training' on computer... they were playing Tie Fighter.

why can imax movies only be 2 hours long?
Posted by: Null Actor
Because the Canadians who invented it drank too much beer.
Posted by: TheeMon
lol what does that have to do with anything?
Posted by: Ghetto Blasta
Damn Canadians....always there to screw something up
