Psycho Movies.

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

This post is about the re-make of the old psycho movies:

I personally don't mind that they re-made the movies, but this is the best forum to talk about it in.
Now I'm really glad that the movie makers re-made the movies to the exact specifications, so it's pretty much the same. But why did they do it? Some actors were bored? Some director was bored? Better graphics? Better Quality?

Oh yeah, how many psycho movies are there? Four?

What, may I ask, is a Pyscho movie? Are we talking Alfred Hitchcock or something else?

Think so ... anyway, if there's any movie I want them to remake, it's the old black-and-white sci-fi and fantasy classics .... or better yet, have them redo the movie Dungeons and Dragons and include a real plot and real special fx in it...

Psycho
Psycho remake

I've never seen them.

Yeah, and the others were probably the various sequels, spinoffs and even a prequel ... Hollywood can be so lame sometimes...

Yes, cheese. It was Alfred Hitchcock.

It's the one(s) where that guy kills ladies in the shower with a knife. And he impersonates his mother he poisoned to death when he was about 14.

Some remakes are cool.

I would never want to watch Red Dragon if they hadn't remade Man Hunter. And they did a remake of Carrie on NBC which I watched (but the original was probably better). Ocean's 11 and Planet of the Apes (the one w/ Mark Walberg) were remakes as well.

People decide to do remakes sometimes to modernize the story, try to attempt to make it better than the original, and mostly remake it for the easy money.

The original Carrie had better acting and a superb, haunting soundtrack - still one of the scariest soundtracks in horror movies. And nothing can beat Sissy Spacek's horrifying look with all that blood on her...

Yes, I know what the movie is about. I was just confused when you said "psycho movies."

Now I don't recall Alfred Hitchcock making any sequels to Psycho. There was one remake made in the 90s which starred Vince Vaughn and Anne Heche. Obviously Vaughn's performance had nothing on Anthony Perkins', and the addition of color to an almost shot-by-shot remake did nothing for the movie.
