I have a WD 2.6GB Hd in my 133
I hardly use it only for studies stuff...
It has win98se
and office 97PRO
The HD gets COMPLETELY fragmented almost 100%
and does that everytime I defrag it...
I leave it on a lot , I turn it off every once-in-a-while...
This HD i bought off a technicien who had one in stock
it only served to an old lady who all she did was scan photos and send them.... it had win98 and the scanner program......
Any suggestoinn%

One suggestion that I have would be to clearly communicate a problem or question.

If there's not enough free space, it won't be able to defrag it so try freeing up some more space and then defrag it.

That'd be my guess ... one of the HDs at my work is that size and I had to uninstall SP3 just to get it to defrag. We're running win2k, so I don't know the size of Win98se enough to tell.
You should get a messege that it can't defrag though when you start it...

out of 2.6, 400MB are used.....
It gets fragmented easily

If you defrag it and check when it's done, how much is it fragmented?
How long does it take to get fragmented alot again?

2 days about without doing hadly anything just turning it off or on...... or maybe just typing in word.

You could have something running in the background, indexing everything, or something of that matter.
Like MS Office Fast Find.

With such a small drive having fragmentation is simply the way its going to be. Everytime an App makes a temporary file, then saves something else before deleting the temporary one the next thing that gets saved is inevitably fragmented. If you have any apps that keep logs of when and how they were last used then that also causes fragmentation. Also, if the HD has surface errors on it then you will always have at least some fragmentation no matter what you do. Always run a THOUROUGH scandisk BEFORE defragmenting, otherwise your files could become corrupted by misreading surface errors while they are moved around. Finally make sure nothing besides the Windows required files are open and running.
