Washington — China's Minister of Science and Technology is scheduled to sign an agreement with the United States on Wednesday (Dec. 11) that would increase technology cooperation between the rivals.

Minister Xu Guanhua will sign the Protocol on Cooperation in Civilian Industrial Technology and Scientific and Technical Information Policy during a signing ceremony at the Commerce Department. Commerce Secretary Donald Evans will sign the agreement for the Bush Administration.

The agreement symbolizes growing research and commercial ties between Chinese government agencies and U.S. companies and universities. Chinese officials have forged research deals with several universities on technology research, including the University of Maryland.

How can a country with such a conceited idea for government be so open to technology...

Money.

And China has something like 30 million new Internet subscribers every year. China hasn't been a command economy in over 20+ years. They shifted to mixed economy in the 80s. That means privatization, but with limits. **** idealogy, in the end, everybody is here to make money.
