Hi all.....

Ok a bit of a strange one this.

I had a good collection on MP3's and now there missing. The drectory they were in has dissapered leaving no trace.

When I check in my computer the used space on the drive it clearly shows they are using drive space but I can't access them or see them. I have run scandisk and defrag (not that that would help but I gave it ago) and no change.

I tried running disk clean up. It interstingly shows 3.9gb (roulghy the size of my missing mp3's) as old chkdisk files.

Is this them..??

I'm lost and need help, any ideas kind people..

Spec's
P 4 1.8
ibm deskstar HD's
WIN XP PRO
and other bits

P.s this occured since I had oot problems. see this post

Should I have done that whoops..

Check to see if they were inadvertently hidden ... I'd provide instruction, but changes per OS.

I don't know much about Chkdsk ... sounds curious though. Perhaps the directory became corrupted.

Try renaming the .chk files to .mp3, That might work.
You'd have to manually rename everyone of them if it does though (unless you like to have filexxxx.mp3 for everyone of them).
