For the past year -It just happend out of nowhere- if my comp ever froze during a video game when I reboot my comp, before the windows me screen came on, the screen gose black(like if u leave a floppy in the floppy drive and it said wrong floppy or something) and it says -its been awile so i can remember- the system registry is not ready or the registry something damn I cant remember or Sometimes the windows screen stays there for like forever.I fix this problem by reinstalling my os with a CD and theres three options on how I can reinstall, either replace missing files or deleting c:/windows or the whole Enchilada the whole thing.If I choose either replace missing files or deleting c:/windows when im done and I reboot my comp, at the screen where the mouse shows up an error msg comes up saying cannot read from hard drive C - Like if I took out the hard drive, but I didn't- so I have to do the whole thing erasing every thing all my cool mp3s my scenarios from rts's, everything argh!Im hoping for someone to come across this and maybe having the same prob.One time it happend so constanly I couldn't even use my comp for one day straight! Here are my system specs(I'll just put what I see in my pc info thing)

AMD Athlon 900MHz.
Motherboard: MS-6330 MicroStar.

ME = Bad.
Some people get it to work nicely, although the majority of the people I've spoken too disklike it for one reason or another.
I'd say its time to upgrade.

WinME is fine as long as you tweak it. Ive had it for over a year now and I dont see anything wrong with it. When I first got it, it sucked majorly. Lockups, Reboots, BSOD, etc, then I started tweaking it and now Ive locked up maybe 3x in the last 6 months and I barely know a BSOD anymore, as I havent seen one for so long.
You might want to check your drive for viruses. Sometimes even when you format a drive you can still have a virus looming, depending on how powerful it is. Sounds like though that your hard drive is going out. Try running a surface scan with scandisk, if you can boot to windows.
