well my mom is buying me a new system and i want to know waht to get the xbox or ps2
here are some reasons why i like them and dislike them which is making me confused if u can help me in deciding on what to get ill gladly apreciate it
for the xbox:
1. i like the graphics and havine a hardrive and being able to put mp3's on it
2:not to many games i like

for the ps2:
1: good prices on games
2:they like to fail and have disc read errors
3:no hard drive

I own all three systems, but I like Xbox the best. Halo is the greatest game ever made. You can't put mp3's on an xbox, but you can put c.d. tracks on the hard drive.

That topic has been revisited several times, so you may wanna get some ideas from these past links:

Definately Xbox, Xbox live is the shiznit, it also has so much more room for expansion it's not even funny. I have a thing on Xbox compared to the other systems. I'll post it. I don't have anything better to do.

Yeah, none of that makes any sense to me.

Seperoth, you said that you didnt like many games on the xbox. Dont buy it. Pretty simple. If you like more games on the ps2, buy it instead.

No point in buying a system that makes you say "not many games I like". Buying it just because it has a harddrive and you can put mp3s on it is goofy-- you have a pc for that.

Graphics are a non-issue for more reasons that one.

I was going to say the same thing. If you are going to buy a console and won't like the games on it, what's the point?

Would u buy a winter coat just because it looks good but doesn't keep u warm at all?

Posted by: seperoth

thats true ak most of the games on xbox are on pc like morrowind etc
i just am wondering what the ppl think

I have all three systems as well, and I would have to say that I don't touch my ps2 or gamecube very often.

I would go with XBOX. If having many good titles is your thing, I would suggest getting a ps2.

But before you make up your mind, put this into perspective. With the ps2 being a slower or older system, it will be out of the ring before XBOX. XBOX has time before it is useless. Games will come out for the XBOX that anyone will appeciate. But if you simply CANNOT wait, then get a ps2.

But I still think XBOX owns!

AK47 and Nfested sum it up the best. It is all about the games. Graphics are the same on all three systems, so it is all about the games.

No point in getting a system when you would play none of the games

Deffinitely Xbox. You'll love it once you get it. Good games have been coming out for the console too, and you're sure to see more with Xbox Live now out.

Dreamcast owns Xbox!!!

That isn't even close to being true. Xbox has the best graphic capabilities. Don't even get me started.

It's true that the technical specs of the Xbox are ahead of both the PS2 and the GC, but not enough to set it far enough ahead for one to consider it. And graphics don't really matter unless there are games you would actually play on it. All 3 offer a high level of game realism and animation.

Gamecube.
gg all

Maxwing is right. Technically the Xbox is capable of having better graphics than any of the other systems. However the difference is not yet so noticeable as to be able to establish a comparison such as PS2 vs PSX. Afterall certain PS2 and GC games do look better than certain Xbox games.

Also, grpahics aren't everything. The perfect example is NHL 2k3. The animations are extraordinary and the gameplay is great but the graphics are not even close to up to par with EA's NHL 2002. (or 2003, just I haven't played it yet)

Agreed, if they had put the touches on NHL2k3 like they did the NFL and NBA franchises then it would be to par with EA titles.

Posted by: Bobaroo

But NHL2k3 is still one of the best hockey games that i have played.

Right now I think GC is the best system. It has great games out and a few more coming out. You could get Mario, Metroid, Super Smash Bros, Animal Crossing and Zelda when it comes out. Those are all great games.

Posted by: Tecil

I love my Xbox to death (NHL2k3 + Xbox Live!!!).

But I did splurge and buy a Gameboy Advanced and have been playing through Zelda the last couple days.

Posted by: Xtren

Personally (no offense Babaroo) I think the GC would appeal more to younger gamers. Now don't get me wrong, Zelda, Mario, Metroid, all those games are awesome. However, I think games like Splinter Cell, MGS2, Vice City, etc., would lead more teenagers and adult gamers to buy the other two consoles on the market.

That said I still feel the Xbox is the best console, which is why I bought it.
