Hahahah
I don't like it either.

Posted by: Iownyourmom

ive been using it since i downloaded it and it is rather annoying that whole application is sort of big and way to complicated... i liked the simplicity of the old winamp... all well but i do like the media browser it reminds me of Itunes on a mac (i happen to like SOME mac items like the ipod) all well i have the installer for the old version still :-)

Since when does software have a sexual orientation?

Winamp3 has some great features that Winamp2 doesn't have.
The one I like the best is the ability to create multiple playlists, that makes it so much easier to seperate your music without having to load another playlist file everytime.
It's also much better skinnable than Winamp2 (not easy though, I wanted to make my own skin but it was a little more complicated than I thought...).

It's not all good though, it has a few nasty bugs, I hope they'll release an updated version soon.

But even with the bugs, I like this version alot better than the previous one.

maybe they have added some plugins since the last time i tried it, but as for a few months back when i tried it, it contained none of the features that make me love Winamp2. as for now, i use Winamp 2.78, because it contains all of the features that make me prefer Winamp over other MP3 players.

Stick with the Winamp 2.7x.

after using it winamp3 more and more im liking it less and less... multiple playlists is nice and so is the media library but those are the only two NEW features that are any good... i think ill go back to winamp2.7... also i thought it would be really cool looking at the new skinz for winamp3 but i cant get them to change without the program crashing :-/ not cool...

Posted by: N.W.A_Kid

i love winamp 3. It's only crashed on me about 3 times, but then again if I had more memory in my comp I might be able to avoid that problem, and it only crashes when I'm using Imesh. I like the video playing features, and the multiple playlists. I still have the old version on my comp too, dunno why but just in case I ever do get fed up with the new version.

Although I have to admit, my most favoriite thing about winamp is it's free.

the more i use it the more i like it but it is not equal to the older version, i finally got it to change without crashing and i found that most skins you download are totaly cool looking but impossible to use easily... so i finally got that looks cool and just use hotkeys to do everything w/o veiwing it... (http://www.winamp.com/skins/detail....ponentId=125219) its pretty cool looking especially when you change the colors...

hey raven whats that sonique version of acid? better or the regular one better?

Posted by: Radiator

I like winamp 3 cuz you can use more then only one playlist

Posted by: Tecil

I quit using Winamp long ago. I pretty much stick with Musicmatch Jukebox. The only nice thing about Winamp was it's load times, but the software has gotten progressively worse in quality.

Posted by: Xtren

Me too Tecil, I use Musicmatch Jukebox Plus, have always prefered it over Winamp.

Posted by: Tecil

Winamp 2.65 was the last decent version. Then they started adding more and more bloat to it.

I like Musicmatch Jukebox Plus, because I can play, edit, rip, and record all from one program. That and I can run it for days on end, broadcasting without a single problem.

Posted by: Radiator

I never heard of Musicmatch Jukebox plus

Ever since AOL took over nullsoft, it's pretty much getting worse and worse... I wouldn't doubt the next release will only let you have 1000 free hours, then it will cost you $21.95 a month for some of the crappiest MP3 playing out there...

BUT!!! No wonder it's number one! lmfao

AOL took over nullsoft? ::uninstalls winamp::
hmmmm now i guess i get to try out musicmatch...
hopefully it works with the mp3 player im getting tommorow (oh crap im not sposed to know that hehe)

Posted by: Tecil

Go here. To pick up older versions of various software.

Get the Winamp verson 2.65 and you will be happy. This has been voted as being the best pre-AOL version on the Winamp forums, and it still uses the old Nitrane output (which sounds a lot better than the new decoder).

I love winamp3, better skins. I try to keep my desktop cool, and better skins for winamp3 is very helpful

EDIT: AOL?? screw that winamp 2 it is

Posted by: Darky!

Problem is, 2.65 doesn't support the new ID3v2 Tag.

Posted by: Tecil

Yeah that is only the downside.

I don't use tags anyways. I have a program that removes all tag info from the song.

Can you give me that program?

Posted by: Xtren

Just out of curiosity why is AOL such a turnoff for Winamp 3.0? Is it really going to make much of a difference?

Posted by: Iownyourmom

im an ex aol user and i just hate the company they try to make everything userfriendly and wind up making crap... what is wrong with tags? i mean tags do suck when other people give them stupid names like untitled user - unkown song when the filename is right... but what if you decided to get an mp3 player? then its a bitch to tag them again... which reminds me does anyone know of a program that gives an mp3 a id3v2 tag from the filename? i know its kind of an odd concept but i could really use it rather than manually going through my thousands of mp3's and tagging them...

It doesn't make a difference, it's the same thing to not use windows because Microsoft makes it.

I uploaded it to my webspace. Here is a download link to that MP3 Tag remover.

Woohoo!

Thanks Tecil

I tried Winamp 3.. then quickly uninstalled it..

I currently have 2.81 and have been quite happy with it..

Posted by: WhiteEyesIsSad

Winamp is a troublemaker...lol

I highly recommend MusicMatch, it has lot's and lot's of nice features and it has never given me any trouble.

Winamp owns you! 2.81 is the best. Fastest and least RAM taken up. Winamp3 takes a bit to load...

Posted by: Outlaw

Hmm... Winamp3 just decided it was time to cause some weird error, reset all my custom settings and delete all my playlists.

Maybe I'll go back to Winamp2 after all, the bugs are starting to annoy me more and more...

Posted by: Iownyourmom

im still using winamp3 and it is kind of a pain in the ass... it works fine if you arn't changing playlist and such constantly if you just load all the music you want and tell it it to play it wont stop till it is done... but it is still quite buggy, im just waiting for an update because winamp does a good job of updating and fixing errors
