i need help on what games i should get 4 my ps2
what should i get???????
Posted by: Ion Silverbolt
It might help if we knew what types of games you like to play.

Why would you buy a PS2 if you don't know what games you're going to get?
Posted by: N.W.A_Kid
HEY ZERO, I HAPPENED TO HAVE DONE THAT!!!
Seriously though, it all depends on what you like. Personally, my opinoin would be..
RPG:
Final Fantasy X
Action:
Hitman 2
Max Payne
GTA Vice City
Horror:
Resident Evil: Code Veronica X
Clock Tower 3 (when it comes out)
The Thing
Sports:
Tony Hawk 4
Fighting:
Tekken 4
Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance
Those are just my personal opinions. I hope it helps, but like anything, read a review first and judge for yourself, and it doesn't hurt to rent games first, either.

Save your cash and buy Tony Hawk 3 now, it's only $20 and its only a matter of time before 4 is the same.

I played THPS2 for PS1. Loads of freaking fun. Didn't go for 3 and 4 since they were essentially the same game.
What was that girl's name that I always was....
Shal knows her name .. it was Samantha something I think..

I thought 3 was a big step ahead of 2. The pace was much quicker and level design was even better than before and the added revert was a nice little touch. 4 is essentially more of the same of 3.

i mostly like rpg's and action driving sims like gt3

personally, if ya don't like anything I listed for ya, save your money until something really good comes out. I've been readin PSM like usual, and they don't have anything good listed, at least nothing I like, and I like the same types as you.

What about WWE SmackDown ! Shut Your Mouth, the reason I got a PS2.

Seperoth, one of the RPGs that has gotten the best reviews this year is Suikoden 3. The gameplay graphics are sick. . .they look better than most cinematics in other games. Combat is turn-based but the animations that accompany even the lowest level encounters are stimulating enough to compensate and then some. The story is easy-to-follow, imaginative and entertaining. Best of all, you have three characters involved in the general plotline to play through the game with, giving three distinct perspectives on the same storyline. The only downside to this game is the cinematic/storyline scenes have no voice acting and there is an awkward silence. However, the graphics are excellent, so nice that you really don't notice.
Check out some of the reviews at TechTV's Extended Play or Gamespot.com for more info. I recently bought this game and, even though have never been a fan of the FF-style turn-based combat, the rest of this game is so good that I can forgive it. Take the time to check it out.

Elissa Steamer.
Everyone should own THPS3 (or 4). Excellent fun. We also got a game called Ico recently, and the replayability is minimal but the game itself is fascinating and has incredible graphics. The entire game looks like what you normally think of as footage. Worth a rental, anyway.
Whatever you do, do NOT get Lord of the Rings I: Fellowship of the Ring. That game sucks dick.

Word up.
However, the next installment in the Lord of the Rings series of games is getting good reviews. Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers has made a strong impression on the geeks at Extended Play and received a favorable reaction from the crew at Gamespot.com. Apparently the real-time combat is killer, even though there isn't any stair-surfing on orc shields. I may be adding this title to my own library soon.

the Two Towers game made by EA is rock solid. A friend of mine rented it and we didnt stop playing till we were completely finished. It's been a long time since I've done that.
The game feels a bit like Gauntlet- just run around, kick ass and take names. Its a blast and the graphics are among the best I've seen anywhere. It really is fun to play for no other reason just to see what the next area looks like. Add in a kick ass 2 player mode and the game is a must buy

I got LOTR:TTT for PS2 on Christmas and I have been playing it every chance I can. I love this game and have not found out something that I did not like. I can't compare it to the FOTR because I have not played that.
You pretty much play through the first two movies, the graphics are great and it has a lot of footage from the movies. Great Game.

Devil May Cry - yes

Devil May Cry is good. Devil May Cry 2 comes out on Jan 28th.
Posted by: Shalome
Devil May Cry was an enjoyable game, but it's too short, and the replayability factor was low.
Fun to play as a rental. Wouldn't buy it.

Devil May Cry is overrated.
I don't see why it gets so much praise all the time like in the older threads in this forum.
Yeah, the gameplay and combat was loads of fun. But all the cheesy attempts to be "cool" were just lame. And predictable.
The backstory of your character being the descendant of a legendary demon that was a savior was pretty cool. But the actual story that the game took place in was just the suck.
That is all.
