Drop bug? Or just me...

Well, ive come to notice something wierd, while dueling especially. What happens is if im killed while running it drops me and b.net times me out saying realm down for like about 10-20 minutes? Well anywayz i wanted to see if im the only one this is happening to or if they're others too.

Also another thing, this ESPECIALLY happens while dueling zons with their guided arrows.

More than likely b.net is having more technical difficulties. It's probably due to them trying to do something with the realm. Does it happen only on the realm you play on, or does it happen on every realm?

Well i only play on useast. From what iv'e seen, what it SEEMS to me is that it is some sort of synch disorder, like what u see on your computer is not actually happening on over at the servers, thing is that it didn't used to happen before. Well hopefully this thing will get patched up all nice and neat afer 1.10

I hope so too. I think it's just a Blizzard problem. Perhaps they're testing something now for the patch that has to deal with dueling and it's causing things to go haywire. Do you have any idea when they're supposed to release that new patch?

There is no new patch.
In December 2001, Blizzard announced that they were about to release the 1.10 patch that would entirely change gameplay and balance everything. Read that date again. December, 2001. Since then, there's been rampant speculation on fanboy sites and hack sites as to what that patch will do and when it's being released.
You seen that patch yet? No? Me neither. You seen any new announcements on Battle.net Status News (the only place for actual news from Blizzard)? No? Me neither.
Face it, the patch isn't coming "soon." It's almost getting amusing.
solution to your problem:

At any rate, the "out of synch" play is called "lag." It gets worse and worse because more and more people use pindlebots and such, which overload the servers.
Blizzard also runs programs to detect maphack. If you're using maphack and you're lagging out and dying, well, I don't feel sorry for you. Blizzard says if you're booted for using maphack, you'll most likely receive the "Realm Down" message for a while. Way to fix it? Don't use maphack. Duh.
If you die during lag, you'll most likely get the "Realm Down" issue. The thing that works most often is this:
Log off battle.net. Go into your Diablo II folder and delete the file bncache.dat. Log back on to battle.net.
Bncache.dat is a file that contains connection data. It is easily corrupted, especially if you are booted from a server during lag. If there is no existing bncache.dat file, then battle.net will make you a new, clean copy when you log back on.

If I can find it in my email. Maybe I was delayed a letter. While I'm looking for it, I can tell you this much Angst: It basically talked about how they were remaking the whole game and redoing the uniques, yada yada, but after Shalome's post I went back to Blizzard and tried to find the insider that they mentioned this, and I can't find it.
edit: That is, I can't find the patch information on their website. And, I'm having trouble finding that email, but I assure you Angst, that this is no hoax, but perhaps somebody hoaxed me. If it does come up I will let you know, but I have a feeling that my dad deleted it. 
another edit: Since I can't find the newsletter, I sent an email to them, regarding the patch. I don't know if I will see an answer, or if they will tell me the truth, but should I get a response, would you want that?
