Fallout 3: Brotherhood of Steel?

Before I begin, I must say this:
I have not yet played Fallout 1
I have played Fallout 2
I am long awaiting Fallout 3
Since I began my addiction to this old yet extremely addicting, turn-based RPG. I seem to forget what is going on in the real-world. For the past week SOLID I have been playing Fallout 2(a few days dedicated to restarting after F***ing everything up *twice*)
For those who have played this game I have recently heard news of the third release of the Fallout series to be soon and fast. However, since I was a late Boomer on the series, I am not aware of the release date of the 3rd addition to the series and I have heard rumors that it was going to be 3D, instead of the classical 2D turned-based RPG of a god it is so truthfully is. I am anticipating this release because of the Inept ability of the software producers to produce such a fine line of REAL PC games such as Fallout 1 & Fallout 2.
I, The long awaited ( I think its been about 5 months since I have logged on), request some more input from my fellow gamers including those who (a) dont like the game (b) played it,and don't care about it. or (c) Love the game, and is an avid gamer' similar to myself.

I had a poll like this a while ago, doesn't seem like too many people round here have played/liked the series.
Me, I love it. But I haven't heard anything about the 3rd coming out anytime at all. Maybe you're confusing it with Fallout: Tactics, which has been out for quite some time.

I've played Fallout II and Fallout: Tactics. I enjoyed them both. I also have Fallout I (which was included as a bonus in my Fallout II package), but really couldn't stomach the graphics after playing Tactics (I had bought them out of sequence).
I think Fallout as an MMO would be interesting.

What do you all think is the best in the series, cause ive heard a lot about them, but was reluctent to try an rpg that I heard had lots of guns in it. That's just not in keeping with classic RPG's. The point is: when I try one which one should I try?

if you only buy one , buy fallout 2, the fallout:tactics is a spin off not a proper sequel.Fallout 2 has so much depth it is unreal.

Uhh not all RPGs are fantasy swords and sorcery based.
Fallout 2 is much better than 1. One you were limited on time and it was pretty linear. Two is open ended and has no time restraints imposed on you.

Aye. Many new RPG's are changing everything. But note that I had the word "classic" before RPG.
I just saw Fallout 2 for 10 bucks, so I think I'll probably order it in a minute. Thanks for the reccommendation; it better be good.
I searched on google for fallout 3. It looks like it's just a rumor. I havn't seen any official statement about it coming out. Of course, many game event rumors do come happen, so you all probably have a good hope of seeing it out someday.

Remember that game "Torn" that black isle/bioware were working on, I reckon that the game engine will be used for fallout 3 (more morrowind than rincewind :-))
