NAV Problem Report

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I do Tech Support for a small ISP and something new has come up recently. I'm getting reports from some of our customers over the past couple of weeks that the new version of NAV 2003 has been causing faults in Outlook Express. They're getting error messages specifically saying that NAV was unable to send a message due to a disconnection of the server. It's not a common error message and this is the first time I've heard this error in 2 years of doing this. I'm assuming for the time being that Symantec must have released some kind of update to NAV recently that may be contributing to this problem and it only appears to be effecting the new version of the program.

I'd like to know if any of my friends on here have also seen this problem recently and if anyone has heard what maybe causing it. It appears to be getting more widespread over the past week. I'll give you the exact message later after I've spoken to someone again about it.

I have heard of errors with NAV and Outlook Express, but not that specific one. Have you tried typing in the error into Symantec's search engine? They have a pretty good knowledge base and support base for their products.

I'll have to do that once I get to talk to someone else with the problem. I can't remember word-for-word the exact error.

I think I've found the answer. Your link to the Symantec engine was very helpful. Looks like the latest update takes care of the problem. Something having to do with the redirector.
