...which I'm sure will make some happy.

First off, I am well aware this topic is getting locked, and also that I am either getting suspended or banned from the forums for doing this, but it is something I believe I must do.

It seems that if I were a liar, or compromised my point of view on most everything to appease the masses, I would be accepted here. Perhaps if I had more "Tact" then what I say would be less likely to get people mad at me. Its not just on religious topics, but pretty much everything here. The few times I've been able to help someone with a technical problem ended up in heated arguments over the dumbest things. I was completely wrong in one case, the thing with the cd lasers, both in fact and in deed, but the point is I was eventually given over to the facts. I had an erroneous understanding of the way the terminology was being used. Some may remember this thread from a month or so ago.

I really don't fit in with you all, though I would wish someone at least has understood what I was trying to say yesterday and today, which I never really made the points I would have liked to make. Doubtless, the threads would have been locked regardless.

Why someone would rather listen to a liar or someone who just goes along with the flow just to fit in I can't imagine. If I have to make those changes and compromises to be able to fit in with anyone I choose to not fit in at all. Is it so wrong to look at society and your beliefs and wonder just why it is that almost nobody believes in any such thing as right and wrong any more? I'm not even talking about whether they actually do right or not, and haven't been doing so either. Right now I'm just talking about the concept of good and evil and that it is preferable to do good. There is a young woman who works at the place where I work, and she is into witchcraft. It hurts me everytime I see her. Regardless of what your theological beliefs, how can someone's mind be so warped as to go out of the way to serve something that even they say is wrong?

What is so wrong about these six things? And why is it so hard to admit that you can't do it and nothing you do can change that?

Honor your father and your mother.
Don't kill.
Don't steal.
Don't lie.
Don't commit adultry.
Dont covet anyones possesions or to do one of the above.

Regardless of whether you believe in the God that wrote these things, can you say the world would not be a good place if everyone at least tried to do that? And see the example a few lines above as evidence that there are actually people who are specificly trying not to do good. No, there is a big difference between a pharasee who points out other people's faults for the sake of mocking them or making theirselves feel better, and one who does so for the sake of that person or group of people.

I had tried to avoid this, the 'negative' side of Christ's teachings because it is generally what causes people to get mad, and had instead devoted to say, poorly in retrospect, that the church has left its core doctrine. That being that man does not need to do anything, and cannot do anything to change his situation. God has already done it for you in sending Jesus to die on the cross! The only thing you do is believe it, or not.

Unfortunately I spent more time on one denomination than I ever intended to do, but it became necessary under the circumstances. If you are a christian reading this then ask yourself a few questions. How did you get saved? Did you go to a priest or pastor and have them pray for you? Some may have, but is that really what saved you? Was it the clothing you wear or the number of passages of scripture you can recite? The amount of money you give? How many sick and homeless people you helped last year? No it wasn't. It was when you believe in, and put your faith in Jesus, and more specificly the suficiency of his sacrifice on the cross. Why then, now that you are saved, if you are saved, do you put your faith back in worldly things and in deeds? Why have you left Jesus for a ritual cleansing when he has already cleansed you by faith?

If I came compromising someone would surely point out that I was a liar and a hypocrite. Without compromise I am accused of seeing things through a warped lens, having no respect for other people's belief systems, and having no tact. Yet when poled by a certian christian television program, The 700 club as I recall, nearly 90% of all american supposedly christian teens poled did not believe in absolute morality. How can you believe Jesus is the son of God and not believe a word he said? Seventy-something percent of all atheists and other non-christians poled agreed that the judao-christian ethic was probably the right one, yet when asked why they didn't believe in God and why they don't follow that ethic almost none of them could give an intelligent answer. So who's lense is warped? Who is the hypocrite? What is there worth respecting in a lie? And what good is tact if it requires you to compromise the message you're using it to convey?

Laggy suggested that I join a theological forum, but they will not allow me for the same reason I am censored here, and the same faults that I openly posted of myself. Man wants to believe that he can do good on his own and he'll resist anything that says otherwise. It is the god of Self: The most popular belief system in the world, and it has invaded the church through subtlty and compromise, but now displays itself openly for those who are willing to look.

God bless anyone who understands what I'm talking about.

Welcome to OTS, Bored!
..err, wait...

1) Right and wrong are subjective.

2) Christianity does not have a corner on the market for morality.

3) It's not necessary for you to leave. You seem to have a need to feel rejected or persecuted. If you stick around and continue to post the same kind of stuff you have posted so far, I have a feeling that you will get everything necessary to satisfy your needs.

The "Introduce Yourself" forum is not the proper place for this thread. "Introduce Yourself" is for posts by brand new members who want to share a bit about themselves, not for old members who feel slighted and want to complain that they're not posting anymore. I'm moving this thread to Rants and Raves, where it belongs.

If you feel the need to stop posting for a while, then so be it. You're certainly free to do so.

I hope you get contentment in the company of people who believe you are always right in what you say ... for someone who claims to be "censored", you've been able to say quite a mouthful in several instances in this forum...

Expecting a worthwhile and in-depth debate on religion in a technology-related site was already an unwise decision to begin with .. reflect on that during your hiatus...
