Dual boot on same drive

Managed to create a mess for myself and need some help getting out of it. Under the mistaken impression that a "clean install" would wipe all or most of what was on the drive partition, I installed 2000 on drive C, where ME was already resident. The intent was replacement not dual boot. I now have both on drive C, neither functioning well.
Is there a way that I can wipe or reformat drive C without also wiping or reformatting the 3 other partitions on the drive (d,e,f). As I see it I can't use the format command from My Computer because it's asking the active drive to reformat. Is there a DOS command in either ME or 2000 that I can use to wipe the C partition. I also tried formatting from old DOS 6.22 but got the message that I could't use that version.
If necessary, I'm willing to reformat the whole drive (all 4 partitions) but I'd rather not if there's a way to avoid it. Would appreciate any help I can get. Thanks.

Unless your running software RAID, you should be able to delete and recreate the C: partition in the Win2k setup. You wouldn't need to worry about touching the other partitions.
Like I said, this is if you're not running software based RAID in Win2k.

As far as I know I am not running under software RAID (must admit I don't know what it is). However, I was never given an opportunity to do anything with the C partition under the 2k setup except to say whether that's where I wanted 2k to be installed. Did I miss something?

Did you try starting with a boot disk and running the command "format c:"?

No. I did try with a set of 2k setup disks but not with a boot disk. I'll see if that makes a difference.
