NwN Question - Chapter 3: Uthgardt Trial (Spoiler)

Spoilers Alert

So I figured out a way to get 4 out of the 5 people to agree with me and vote to acquit the guy. But for some reason, the last guy simply_won't_budge. Edeger, Neurik's apprentice, simply refuses to vote "not guilty". He's either got his sword out, and at my best performance, he doesn't vote at all.

I've managed to get the other four to all bring their torches out, after 20 or so reloads and going through all the possible combinations. What am I doing wrong?

My procedure right now:

First witness: Lodar - ask about who started the fight first, then ask about the spiking the drink, and ask about Griff's hatred towards the Uthgardt people, and no more questions. (skip the alcohol affecting judgment question)
Second witness: Zor - ask abuot who started the fight first, and about spiking the drink. (also skip alcohol affecting judgment)
Third witness: the Accused's wife (forget her name) - ask about why she sent him to Griff again, no more questions. (skip the one about the value of the religious items, and about race)

Do not call out Rolgar (none of the things he says will change anyone's opinion, but when he gets cross-examined, you lose a point among one of the jurors).

Closing statement: Say everything except for the alcohol and racist comment - although including both of those in your final statement won't really change a thing. The first statement the only one that does anything (about no one seeing who attacked who).

It's pretty remarkable that I can get all four to agree without bribing any one of them. But I can't even bribe Edeger! What's annoying is that after the trial he congratulates me for bringing justice and acquitting the innocent guy - even though HE was the only person who didn't vote for the guy's acquittal.

since you're giving away something to the game, perhaps you should put a spoiler alert in the header?

Added the spoiler bit...

Anyway, the only thing I can remember about that trial is that there are a couple of people who can be bribed, one person who actually gives an unfavorable verdict when bribed, and one person who cannot be bribed at all ... really depends on how much evidence you have collected. I'll have to reload an NWN save to know for sure, tho... I'm not even sure you can get all of them to raise their torches (at least, I didn't bother with it).

Well I was kind of implying the whole spoiler thing with the "Chapter 3: Uthgardt Trial" title. But ah well, thanks Laggy.

I don't know anyone who still plays NwN anymore.

Remember the two key "witnesses". These two guys are probably the most important of all the jurors.

You don't have to bribe these guys with monetary rewards, but there is a way you can sway them over to your side by your actions. I don't want to flat out tell you what you need to do as that doesn't make it worthwhile, but see what you can get out of both of the two key witnesses I mentioned.

With the information you gather from them, press them hard at the trial, and you should be assured a unanimous verdict of not guilty.

Good luck.

Took the hint and did something to Zod.. but that hasn't changed a thing in the trial... I'll keep hunting, but I'm looking at the same text over and over again. I feel like I'm just using the wrong arguments in the trial - but then again I've tried every possible combination. Nothing gets that stupidass Edegar to raise his torch.

I just went through several websites and their procedures match mine - and they claim that all 5 torches get raised.

For me, it looks almost as if Edegar doesn't even HAVE a torch! I'm beginning to feel as if this game is bugged.

Do you know about the spiked ale? Speak with Lodar. Offer him a round or two and perhaps he'll talk.

Yea, I do, actually. I figured that out a long time ago (read my original post on this thread). None of the sites I searched even talked about using CLW on Zod - so I thought that was what your hint was about.

I think I just have a really bugged NwN... it crashes a lot too...
